Enterprise DAO Launches Cross-Chain Treasuries

--

It’s official: Enterprise DAO, the no-code platform that makes running and interacting with decentralized organizations easy, has enabled cross-chain treasuries. Enterprise DAOs can now manage treasuries on supported Cosmos chains directly from the Enterprise app.

Read on to learn about the new functionality available in Enterprise DAO v2, plus the upcoming roadmap.

New Feature — Cross-chain Treasuries

Here’s how cross-chain treasuries work in Enterprise DAO v2.

Upon creation, all Enterprise DAOs start with the ability to interact with the Terra blockchain, including functionality such as staking, submitting proposals, voting, distributing rewards, and managing the DAO’s Terra treasury. After a DAO has been created on Terra, it can add treasuries on supported chains, which are wallets located on those chains that are linked to and controlled by the DAO. This means that DAOs can manage assets and interact with apps on supported chains, all from within the Enterprise app.

Enterprise cross-chain smart contracts have passed an audit by SCV Security. See their public report on GitHub or join the Enterprise Discord or Telegram for more information.

Speaking of supported chains…

Announcing Migaloo Support for Enterprise DAO

The Enterprise team is excited to announce that the first cross-chain treasuries will open on Migaloo! Migaloo is home to a vibrant community of creators, developers, and Web3 pioneers, and the Enterprise team is excited to introduce more people to the Migaloo ecosystem 🐳

Speaking of the community, we’re planning a Space to speak with the White Whale core team and Migaloo Whales DAO to discuss the new integration. Join us on Tuesday, Nov 28th at 5 pm UTC to learn more.

More chain integrations are planned for the near future. If your chain is interested in Enterprise DAO, please contact us on Telegram or via email at enterprise@terra.money.

Guide to Creating Cross-chain Treasuries

Here are the steps to create a cross-chain treasury for both existing and new DAOs:

Step 0: Create a DAO with a council (if you don’t already have one) — DAO council members can create and vote on certain emergency proposals without having to go through regular governance procedures. We strongly recommend that every Enterprise DAO has one just in case a DAO experiences a technical issue that for some reason can’t be resolved through normal governance. In that case, a council could pass a proposal to fix the issue. Existing DAOs can add a DAO council by clicking on “New Proposal” in the Proposals tab, selecting “Update council”, adding members and their preferred settings, and then submitting the proposal. Pass it through the normal governance process by having your DAO members vote on it, then execute the proposal by clicking on the green “Execute” button on the proposal. New DAOs can add a council on step 7 of the DAO setup process.

Step 1: Upgrade your DAO (only applicable to existing DAOs) — Submit an “Upgrade” governance proposal by clicking on “New Proposal” in the Proposals tab, and pass it through the normal governance process by having your DAO members vote on it. After it has been approved, execute the proposal by clicking on the green “Execute” button on the proposal (see screenshot). Execution can take anywhere from a few seconds to 30 minutes, depending on how large the DAO is. While the DAO is being upgraded, members won’t be able to create governance proposals.

Step 2: Submit a cross-chain treasury proposal — Click “New Proposal” in the DAO’s Proposals tab, select the “Create cross-chain treasury” proposal type, and select where you’d like your cross-chain treasury to be deployed (in this case it will be Migaloo). Pass it through the normal governance process by having your DAO members vote on it, and execute the proposal. The deployment is successful if you see a green “tx completed” status on the proposal (see screenshot).

Step 3: Your cross-chain treasury is now deployed! — You can view your new cross-chain treasury’s address in the “DAO Info” section on the DAO Overview tab.

Guides to Managing Cross-chain Treasuries

To deposit assets into your cross-chain treasury

Navigate to the DAO Treasury tab and click “Deposit” in the Treasury Holdings section. Then, select the asset you wish to deposit into the treasury. Assets can also be deposited by sending them to the treasury address shown in the DAO Info section in the Overview tab.

To send assets from your cross-chain treasury to another wallet address

Go to the DAO Proposals tab and click “New Proposal +”. Then click the “Send treasury assets” proposal and select the chain, asset, amount, and recipient address. Enterprise supports cross-chain transfers by default, so users can input a foreign chain address, and the correct routes will automatically be used. Pass the proposal by having members vote on it, then execute it to send the assets.

To stake assets from a cross-chain treasury

In the DAO Proposals tab, click “New Proposal +”. Then create a “Stake DAO treasury assets” proposal. Select the chain you want to stake on, enter the amount you want to stake, and paste in your preferred validator’s operator address. This can be found by clicking on the validator’s name under the Manual Stake tab on the station.money Stake page, and then scrolling down to Addresses. Pass the proposal by having members vote on it, then execute it to stake the assets.

To unstake assets from a cross-chain treasury

It will be the same as staking, except that the proposal will be titled “Unstake DAO treasury assets”.

To reallocate staked DAO treasury assets to a different validator

This will also be the same as staking, except that the proposal title will be “Reallocate staked DAO treasury assets”, and you’ll specify a new validator wallet address that you’d like to stake with.

To execute custom WASM messages to utilize cross-chain treasury assets

This is for developers and may include interacting with smart contracts/apps on supported chains. Visit the DAO Proposals tab and create a new “Execute custom WASM messages” proposal. Select the treasury you want to execute a message from and either use a template from the Enterprise Docs or one you’ve written. Pass the proposal by having members vote on it, then execute it to complete it.

Looking Ahead — More Chains, Smoother Experience

The launch of cross-chain treasuries is an exciting milestone, but we’re only getting started. More updates will roll out over the next few weeks and months, including more chain integrations. Let us know what chains you’d like to see integrated next by tagging @enterprise_dao on X/Twitter!

The Enterprise team is working on major upgrades to transform Enterprise DAO into the world’s most user-friendly DAO platform. These include:

  • Any token, any NFT, any chain — staked. Staking will be enabled for every supported chain, allowing Enterprise DAOs to use any token or NFT collection on any supported chain as the DAO’s governance asset. This opens the door for DAOs on Migaloo and future chains to use Enterprise as their DAO platform of choice.
  • One-click staking on every chain. The team will make improvements to the staking experience on supported chains until it’s identical to staking native Terra tokens and NFTs — just one click and you’re staked, voting, and earning rewards.
  • Pulsar dashboard integration. Following TFL’s recent acquisition of Pulsar Finance, the team will integrate Pulsar Portfolio functionality into Enterprise, enabling DAOs to more seamlessly track and manage their assets.
  • Fee token of your choice. Right now, users need LUNA in their Terra wallets to pay for transaction fees. After staking on supported chains is enabled, Enterprise will enable users to use the fee token of their choice across supported chains.
  • UX improvements. Continual updates will be rolled out to make every process smoother and more intuitive, based on user feedback. This includes clear messaging, helpful tooltips, and documentation updates to make the process of setting up, configuring, and interacting with a DAO as easy as possible.

Our mission at Enterprise is to become the all-in-one platform for managing on-chain organizations. Enterprise DAO v2 is a step along this path, and now that cross-chain treasuries have debuted, rapid updates will be made to make it a truly world-class platform.
