APX Labs (apx-labs.com)

What is it? Wearable tech for industrial workers in Manufacturing, Field Service, Logistics. Skylight is enterprise software for smart glasses/watches.
Who uses it? Tesla, Boeing, Shell, GE, J&J, Exxon Mobil. Great momentum.
Why is it better? Intuitive UI for live feeds monitoring, data capture, see-what-i-see use cases. Partners in h/w (Vuzix, Recon), s/w (Microsoft, SAP), services (Accenture). Fantastic content e.g wearables periodic table.

Augmedix (augmedix.com)

What is it? HIPAA compliant wearables + automatic documentation tech. Doctors can retrieve patient history, write back to Electronic Health Records, and get chart notes in minutes. More patients, more personal interaction.

Who uses it? Hundreds of physicians. Likely a LOT more in coming years, Augmedix just raised a $17MM funding round after a Series A in 2015.
Why is it better? Includes documentation service and scribes in addition to nifty software on smart glasses. Saves doctors 15 hours/week of EHR inputs.

Theatro (theatro.com)

What is it? IoT solution provider that replaces two-way radios with voice controlled wearables for in-store communication and retail workers.
Who uses it? Cabela’s Inc, which does hunting, fishing gear. Other retailers.
Why is it better? Lots of wearable apps for very targeted use cases e.g. employee on-boarding, setting daily store direction, SKU lookups.
