What is it? SaaS platform for orchestrating business operations (BizOps) and automating customer journeys. Usermind breaks silos b/n marketing, sales, IT by automating processes and surfacing critical data between teams.
Who uses it? Tanium, Tallie, CloudFlare, TUNE, Xamarin, and others
Why is it better? Core technology to convert “customer journeys” into a repeatable end to end process, a hub for business units to pool resources, a ‘journey design’ tool, many integrations (SF, Marketo, Zuora, Pardot, Slack).

Apptio (apptio.com)

What is it? SaaS platform that gives CIOs data and analytics applications for Technology Business Management to understand IT investments and consumption and make better decisions about technology investments.

Who uses it? 40% of the Fortune 500 including Chevron, Facebook, GM
Why is it better? Apptio pioneered the TBM category and has standardized cost and data models built into its solution. In-memory analytics platform takes data directly from all financial, operational, and billing systems.

Skyhigh Networks (skyhighnetworks.com)

What is it? Cloud Access Security Broker platform. Gives companies visibility to cloud services, compliance, data security, and threat protection.
Who uses it? Western Union, DirectTV, Monster Energy drinks
Why is it better? Specific products e.g. for Shadow IT, no need for new device agents, a cloud activity graph, the CloudTrust evaluation program.
