Background

Haviah Mighty is a Canadian rapper who spent her formative years in Brampton, Canada. Her musical skills have been honed for many years. At age 4 she started taking music lesson. She started producing at 15 and released her first mixtape, “No Studio” at 17. For several years she released project after project without any surmountable success. In 2016 she started making some gains when she won the So You Think You Can Rap Canada competition. That same year she freestyled for International Women’s Day with three other Canadian female rappers. The cypher went viral and the girls decided to form a rap collective, called The Sorority. The group released their only album “Pledge” in 2018 and received mostly positive reviews. They also went on to win the Stingray Rising Stars Award. Near the end of their tour in 2018 the group announced that they would break up to pursue separate solo careers. With considerable critical acclaim, greater national attention, and more time to sharpen her skills, Haviah seized the moment.
