Fire OS has been around for a long time and it has a good user base of over 30 million active users. As a smart TV stick, firestick is a dominant player and interestingly, it is built on top of vanilla Android. This means, although as a smart TV box, it will serve users well, it still misses some of the goodies that Google brings into Android with its Google mobile services, APIs and apps.

Being a UEM that focuses on a wide range of support for all OS types, Entgra has added support for a subset of features from our standard Android offering into Amazon fire OS. Some of these include the ability to, do a quick enrollment, track device information and vitals, send notifications to users, prompt screen-sharing, troubleshooting issues on the device remotely, apply specific restrictions and create a secure device out of this simple entertainment terminal.

We are at an early stage and the primary focus was on fire TV for the initial release. However, we are committed to adding more features and support to fire OS to make this a solid offering that benefits many more Entgra customers to come. Do you have an interest for managing a Fire OS based device with an EMM? We are happy to help, contact us today.
