redBus founder Phanindra Sama recently confirmed that South African based media and internet group, Nasper, has acquired them via their India subsidiary, IbiboGroup.

Nasper in India has access through IbiboGroup, and has investments in E-Commerce ventures throughout the world. Based in South Africa, they have invested in OLX (India Based Venture), Nimbuzz (Based out of Netherlands), Bixee (Another Indian venture), etc. other than numerous Print Media ventures. This shows that Indian Start-Ups and the economy is attracting international funding from around the world, and should give hope to the start-ups sprouting all over the country.

redBus.in acquisition makes the idea of start-up even more concrete as the founders get a hope of getting the financial backing to take the idea worldwide rather getting limited to regions/cities/states.

Bangalore, Pune, Mumbai, Delhi-NCR, & Hyderabad has the maximum number of Web Based start-ups due to obvious reasons. With Class B cities getting better Web connectivity the environment will only get fierce. Recent trend has seen start-ups being found in cities like Goa, Mcleodganj, Shimla, Kunnur, & the likes as youngsters love to spend time in these cities. Other than the financial benefit due to lower rents and salaries, the youngsters prefer these locations due to tourist attraction.

So will you think of shifting to Goa?
