Congratulations TRINE, a worthy winner of the first EWB Award!
Trine, a Swedish impact company that enable people to invest in loans to solar energy companies in frontier markets is the winner of the first EWB Award.
The award ceremony was held on October 8th at Norrsken House in Stockholm, Sweden.
“We are delighted to announce that the 2019 prize is awarded Trine. This year’s overall theme for both our Summit and our Award was impact investing, and our winner really ticked all the boxes; Impact investing, sustainable entrepreneurship, helping solve a big problem aligned with the UN SDG’s in developing countries and making a big difference” says Donnie SC Lygonis, founder of Entrepreneurs Without Borders (EWB) and chairman of the jury of the EWB Award.
Sam Manaberi, Founder and CEO of Trine continues “We’re very proud to be the first winner of the EWB Award. It’s not only a great recognition for Trine but also for all entrepreneurs who don’t compromise on profit or purpose. We see a lot of great companies who are determined to tackle some of the largest global challenges by offering a service/product where impact is a cornerstone in the business model. That’s why profit with purpose is not a choice for Trine, it’s how we see the future.”
Trine’s mission is to give people a triple return on investment — earn a profit while making social and environmental impact. Their innovative solution makes it easy for people to invest in solar energy in growing markets and is fully aligned with Agenda 2030.
