The complexities of plots and psychological aspects of the detective/comedy/horror series Dexter were fabulous. It’s hard to beat excellent scripts and storytelling. The serial killer series Dexter had a huge fan base in its eight years on Showtime and we already had a sequel in 2021 with Dexter: New Blood in 2021.

Now, Paramount introduces a new prequel with Dexter: Original Sin with Michael C. Hall, the original Dexter, as one of the producers. In this show, he is the inner voice who speaks about his younger self. Consider this prequel a becoming-of-age-story, like Young Sheldon, but with an emerging murderer instead of a physicist.

I wasn’t excited about this series, since the original Dexter already covered in detail how Dexter went wrong. Why did we need another series to tell the story again? I was about to avoid this series like COVID-19. No reboot can compare to the original Dexter, right?
