Don’t mock the youth, they will stop climate change!
Young people are beautiful. They are full of energy and well-versed with new technologies and social media. Young people are the future.
But who listens to young people? Among the older generations, who has ever opened the TikTok app? I haven’t. This sadly puts me in the box of the not young anymore. Today, most decision-makers and global leaders are old people who have never heard of any famous TikTok influencers.
On the international scene, the voice of the youth is still a whisper. Despite the effort of the United Nations and its partner organization, youth is still wrongly considered as a simple cheerleader encouraging stakeholders in their negotiation.
The youth is eager to make their voice heard because there is much more at stake for them in this debate. After all, young people will suffer the most from climate change while old decision-makers will rest in peace.
