Sylvain Duchesne, Enzym CTO

Sylvain is Enzym co-founder and CTO, he is the technical and technological conductor. He designed Enzym way before the prototype design: from an abstract idea to a conceptual sketch to a slick application all through his nimble fingers.

Sylvain is the discrete type, far from unassuming, he has opinions, but does more than he says, which is always better than the opposite.

Anyway, he is in the right spot. No matter the subject at hand, his first question often is “How does it work?” Process, interaction, people.. Once his technical report is done, he loves fixing bugs, which inevitably drawn him to programming, lovingly nicknamed “a bottomless pit of problems”. Directing oneself toward a source of complication can seem quite “not fun’” even self-destructive, and yet!

Sylvain knows how to party, the gaming part was his idea. Although he likes the struggle, he really enjoys the challenge, and hates being bored. So he imagined a game to get people out of their daily life, their routine, their issues, more than entertainment, it is a way out. A game for him, his friends, people, a game which puts value in its users rather than sell them.

Enzym does not detain, keep and most of all sell user data. On the contrary, building both the concept and the structure along was essential. If Enzym is social and transparent, its inner workings shall be as well. The blockchain allows for this transparency and this direct peer to peer access. The opensource reinforces the social aspect.

Sylvain is betting on the common movement, regarding Enzym and life in general, as an alternative to an often commercial evidence. Opening a project to others means favorising exchanges, evolution, and the creation of a digital ecosystem. It also means offering another perspective going back to the essential: people.
