Update on the EOS LITE Airdrop
EOS Lite will be airdropping LITE to EOS holders 1:1 on October 8th.
Due to community interest and demand, we wanted to honor airdropping to the EOS mainnet, instead of airdropping exclusively through participating exchanges as originally planned. We made a last-minute decision right before the airdrop date to airdrop for all users on the mainnet. We thought this was the best model to build awareness and have full community participation. But we were faced unexpectedly with large obstructions, i.e. RAM. Our team of developers spent countless hours trying to figure out a way to make this possible. A project such as ours, still in it’s infancy, and not seeking VC funding or ICO funds cannot readily access the type of capital required for such an amount of RAM. Unfortunately, due to the high costs of airdropping on the EOS platform, we cannot offer the airdrop to all EOS token holders.
Our funding comes from the organic growth that will come from building a genuine and enthusiastic community around our project. This is why we chose an airdrop, instead of doing an ICO, which can be quite a cumbersome process when you consider KYC, legal regulations etc. I think that all can agree that EOS is probably the most skillfully designed blockchain to date, but the biggest problem with the platform is the cost of RAM for developers. This is a problem that has stagnated many teams, and the only solution to the problem is having access to a large source of capital, but which comes first, the chicken or the egg? In the case of EOS dAPP developers the chicken must come first, and it’s not possible for most teams.
We know that some members of the community will be upset, it hurts. But it hurts us more to have to double back on our announcement to airdrop to the mainnet.
Here are our current partners for the Airdrop and where you can obtain EOS LITE:
· Big.One
· Chaince
· Meet.One
If you were not able to get EOS LITE from one of these sources, don’t worry! We will be conducting more airdrops in the future, along with bounties and promotions where you’ll be able to qualify for some EOS LITE.
Stay tuned for more info and updates coming soon.
