Pomelo Season 2 is Now Live!
Grant submissions on Pomelo are now open!
You can now log in on Pomelo.io to support exciting projects that you love and amplify your donations with the power of quadratic funding. Pomelo Season 2 is in full swing and the EOS community is buzzing with activity!
Grant owners have submitted over 140 proposals and over 100 grants have been approved so far. The total matching funds for Season 2 are over $1,000,000, which is about twice as much as Season 1. This is an excellent opportunity to support exciting projects that you love and help reward people who are creating public goods for the EOSIO community.
Public good creators can create grant submissions until April 11th. If you are a grant applicant returning from Season 1, click the “Join Season 2” button and edit your application to provide Season 1 updates and clarify your scope for Season 2. Public good grant owners can promote their project and community members can learn about public goods in Weekly Fireside chats on the EOS Community Discord, Pomelo Pitch Deck episodes with GenerEOS, and Tencent Meetings on WeChat. Grant owners can apply to promote their project on these platforms here.
Pomelo Season 2 NFTs are trending on Atomic Hub and Diamond Pomelo blends are now live and your Pomelo NFT collection now show up on your public profile on pomelo.io. The ENF Partners with OCI
The ENF partnered with OCI to develop and implement the Transaction Lifecycle proposal as the first set of EOS features to move forward into development as a result of the Blue Papers research initiative.
OCI (Object Computing Inc) is a pioneering open source development & consulting company whose technology team offers a comprehensive set of skills ranging from machine learning to blockchain with technology partners including technology giants, such as Google, Intel, and AWS. With over 27 years of industry experience, OCI’s client list is composed of many globally recognized businesses like NASA, Rio Tinto, Bayer, and Motorola.
OCI’s team consists of 200+ highly skilled engineers and includes some of the top contributors to the EOSIO codebase. OCI was instrumental in the development of EOSIO and has been a key contributor to its development since 2017. The top two contributors to the EOS codebase (by commits) are both contractors from OCI and the OCI team can quickly scale to grow with EOS.
The first set of EOS features that OCI will develop to improve the transaction lifecycle are transaction resource cost estimation, subjective billing improvements, transaction retry, and transaction finality status. These features are expected to ship in June and will help provide a smoother, more reliable, and more enjoyable transaction experience for all EOS users.
The partnership was featured in Bloomberg, Nasdaq, Yahoo, and many other prominent news outlets. Matthew Darwin, an author of the API+ Blue Paper, wrote that he is happy the Transaction Lifecycle project is moving forward at light speed and, along with several other community leaders, spoke about why he is excited to work with OCI during the recent EOS Fireside Chat. EOS Hackathon
During this week’s EOS Fireside Chat (timestamped), community member Phoenix shared a proposal and updates about a potential EOS Hackathon. Hackathons can be a helpful way to bring the community together, inspire helpful connections, and foster developments for a flourishing EOS ecosystem.
Phoenix has been organizing weekly community calls and leading an initiative to coordinate an EOS hackathon for about the past two months. Last week, Phoenix shared a detailed proposal for an EOS hackathon in the hackathon planning channel of the EOS Community Discord.
In the proposal, Phoenix provides an overview of the potential benefits of the hackathon and shares detailed plans to make the hackathon as successful as possible. The proposal describes plans to start multi-week hackathon to foster both public goods and commercial businesses on EOS in the next few months. Unlike many other hackathons, this hackathon proposal also includes plans for an ideation phase where participants can pitch ideas for building with EOS and an ongoing mentorship & support program to help winning participants create value with their project after the hackathon is complete.
Many community members voiced enthusiasm for the proposal, including Chris Barnes from Helios who expressed interest in supporting the hackathon with the Helios Incubator and other forms of collaboration with Helios. Phoenix is now looking for more feedback on the proposal and community members to help fill several roles for the hackathon, including project & operations leaders, technical mentors, hackathon judges, and translators.

#EOSReturns with the EOS Superheroes
Many EOS community members are donning superhero attire with EOS chestahedron on their chests and tweeting with the hashtag #EOSReturns as EOS becomes the comeback story of 2022.
This exciting social media trend started this week after EOS community member Trim Bot suggested a movement to rally the EOS community and asked for ideas in the EOS Telegram chat. Several community members quickly responded with ideas and pictures featuring a heroic EOS chestahedron, then Trim Bot tweeted that he would make it his profile picture if the tweet received at least 100 likes.
After the tweet quickly received far more than 100 likes and he updated his profile picture, Trim Bot also tagged many EOS community leaders with custom made superhero profile pictures. After achieving bigger challenges and receiving thousands of likes, Brock Pierce and Yves La Rose also updated the profile pictures to showcase the heroic EOS logo on their chests.
In addition to Brock and Yves, countless more EOS community members have also donned the EOS chestahedron in their profile pictures and joined the league of EOS Superheroes. With the superpowers of EOS and the cooperation of so many heroic leaders, the EOS community is ready to show the world how #EOSReturns as the comeback story of 2022.
The First EOS ETP
The world’s first EOS ETP has arrived!
The EOS ETP will be listed and begin trading on European stock markets in the coming weeks. The physically backed ETP offers investors access to EOS through a liquid, regulated vehicle without the technical challenges of setting up private keys or crypto wallets. The EOS ETP will unlock greater liquidity for EOS and enable institutional European investors to gain exposure to the growing EOS ecosystem.
Patrick Lowry, CEO of Iconic Holding, announced the EOS ETP and shared more details about the EOS ETP in the press release and product page.
The Lost Diamond
The creator of The Lost Diamond, Bjorn Omsland, spoke with Gavriel Shaw about building a popular EOS adventure racing game in a Helios Sunrise Interview this week.
The Lost Diamond is a real-world adventure game on EOS where players can earn big EOS prizes by finding & hiding Lost Diamonds in checkpoints around the world. For example, a player may hide The Lost Diamond somewhere in their local town, a nearby mountain, a cave across the world, or even in the ocean.
Bjorn and Gavriel spoke about many interesting topics, including Bjorn’s inspirations for the game, success with adventure races in Norway, experiences in the Helios Incubator, and plans to grow EOS & The Lost Diamond with millions of players.
EOS Bees on Bywire News
EOS Bees CEO and Eden Chief Delegate Jesse Jaffe spoke with Michael O’Sullivan about his work with the EOS Bees in a Bywire News Interview.
EOS Bees is a grassroots outreach marketing, sales & PR team that is working to help everyone understand the benefits of EOS. Jesse and Michael spoke about many interesting topics during the interview, including Jesse’s experience building the EOS Bees, plans to grow the EOS Bees, collaboration with EOS Support for an open source EOS Referral System, and translation services that the EOS Bees are offering to help grow EOS across many cultures. EOS Twitter Spaces
Jesse Jaffe, Zack Gall, and Mpalanyi Vicent Victor are scheduled to speak with a popular influencer on a Twitter Spaces event to discuss the benefits of EOS with the people of Uganda.
Many members of the EOS community are exploring Twitter Spaces as a way to connect with large audiences and help everyone understand the benefits of EOS.
Weekly Mandel Upgrade Meeting
EOS community leaders met for the seventh Mandel Upgrade Meeting to plan, develop, and upgrade the core software for EOS. EOS previously operated with the EOSIO software developed by Block One for the past several years, but now the EOS community is developing the Mandel core software independently.
This week, they discussed testing Mandel on Jungle Testnet, clarifying Mandel code strategy, and aligning objectives for Mandel development. Detailed meeting summaries and recordings for all Mandel Upgrade Meetings can be found in the Mandel Github repository.
Weekly EOSIO+ Meeting
Leaders from many EOSIO blockchains met for another EOSIO+ Working Group Meeting to discuss the future development of EOSIO.
During this week’s meeting, some participants expressed hesitancy about an important proposal for the future of EOSIO and Yves La Rose implored leaders from fellow EOSIO blockchains to band together to support core development for the mutual benefit of everyone. The Future of Eden & Upcoming Election
The second official Eden election is scheduled for April 9th and all Eden members are encouraged to participate. There is over 200k EOS in the treasury for projects that benefit EOS. This election provides an excellent opportunity to raise funding for EOS projects and help lead the future of the Eden & EOS communities.
This week, there was also an announcement of a project that is aiming to develop Eden into a product for the EOS Community and many more communities around the world. EdenOS is an elegant implementation of Dan Larimer’s concept of fractal democracy described in More Equal Animals, but the development team is now focusing on ƒractally and is not planning to further develop EdenOS. A team of Eden members recently launched EdenElection.com with details about an initiative to lead the future development of EdenOS and create a tool that empowers anyone to easily cooperate their community with Eden elections. The website also includes plans to support many languages to help empower everyone in the world with fractal governance, DAOs, and true democracy.
The next official Eden election is scheduled for April 9th at 9:00 AM EDT and all participants must RSVP at least one day in advance. If you are not an Eden member and would like to participate, you can contact a friendly EOS Support agent to learn more.
