The BOS Core mainnet launches today — But what is it?

The BOS Mainnet launches on January 17, 13:00 UTC.

BOS — (Business Operating System) is an EOS sidechain built for DApps.

Our view is that the BOS success will create network effects and build value to the EOS mainnet.

BOS optimizes EOSIO for businesses serving as a “free port” in the blockchain world, enabling BTC, ETH, EOS or other certificate assets to be traded and transferred on the BOS Network.

BOS will serve as a link to accelerate the development and evolution of IBC (Inter-Blockchain-Communication) that will benefit the entire EOSIO ecosystem.

Also, the network made specific governance rules to improve the business environment. Those are different from EOS mainnet aiming for a light governance approach.

Initially, decisions will be made by the agreement of no less than 15 BPs or Community referendum. Governance rules may change during network development granting the network’s adaptability.

Other differentials from BOS is that Block Producer rewards will be adjusted based on network indicators, DApps will have reduced costs during their initial development stage and developers who contribute on a regular basis will receive token incentives in order to establish a mutually reinforcing community development trend.

All those changes are intending to build easy-to-access and easy-to-use blockchain services for users & a user-friendly infrastructure for DApp operations.

You can already connect to the BOS testnet in our wallet SimplEOS v 0.7.1. as it introduces multi-chain support. As soon as the Mainnet is launched we will release v0.7.2 that grants access to the BOS mainnet.

EOS Rio will be joining the BOS Core ecosystem as bosriobrazil. It’s a big pleasure to be part of this project! Trying to solve real-world problems using blockchain technology is a compelling mission.
