EOSphere operate a Guild on the WAX Protocol Network providing infrastructure, services and initiatives with focus on ensuring the health of the network, as well as assisting in growth and adoption of the WAX Ecosystem.

Welcome to our July 2022 EOSphere Guild Update. This is where we publicly inform our WAX community of EOSphere’s last six weeks challenges and achievements, rather than just sharing them with the WAX Office of Inspector General (OIG) and peer Guilds.

We keep moving forward during tough market times, our services and infrastructure are constantly being optimised from lessons learnt and the need to support daily growing network usage.

June/July has seen an improvement in our services delivery. Our new Hyperion cluster has been handling exceptionally well. We still missed the points required to make #21, however we are optimistic that in this next OIG evaluation that we will make it. This due to there being a new rating category for “Full History” which we of course offer and our HeadsUp monitoring and alerts product is nearing Alpha release.

Lets do it, onto our update:

Technical Operations

Infrastructure and services are currently operating well and the network is busy as always. Looking at our WAX Protocol Network API today we are averaging around 1,000 req/s, but it has had brief moments of over 5,000 req/s in this last few weeks.

In the future I will be proving usage graphs over time, one of our current projects is building an Elastic Stack cluster to ingest logs from our HAProxy Load Balancers using File Beat.

We had some drama on the 7th of July for a period of 12 hours, we experienced a large increase of API requests causing our public nodes to slow down enough to cause a service disruption.

Report from WAX Public Facing Dashboard

This was mitigated by adding an additional public API, that hardware was cheekily snatched from the old WAX Hyperion cluster.

A reminder that we offer uptime and availability statistics via our WAX Public Facing Service Dashboard if you are curious as to our services status.

Product Development

We are still in the MVP Alpha stage of HeadsUp our WAX Infrastructure Monitoring and Alerts Platform. We are optimistic that HeadsUp will be released into the wild in a few weeks.

HeadsUp Development

Below is a short demo of HeadsUp’s basic functionality. Each screen is customisable to visually display relevant information, alerting is then also customisable.

Alerts are currently available on the dashboard, via email and in a slack channel.

Please signal your interest to be part of the initial release in our telegram group.

Business Development

Again a reminder that EOSphere offer Commercial Solutions for WAX Services.

We are able to host or operate your own infrastructure for the following:
Hyperion Full History
Atomic API
WAX Protocol Network API

At this point, we unfortunately aren’t able to provide this service to other WAX Guilds. However, you are welcome to use our ElasticSearch Snapshot Repository API.

Please contact us at info@eosphere.io to discuss your needs so we can craft a suitable solution for you.

WAX Technical How To

If you are technically curious or interested in running services on the WAX network, be sure to have a look at our WAX Technical How To series published monthly in the EOSphere Blog on Medium.

Two new sub articles were released this month and mark the start of our Hyperion Full History Technical How To Series. This series will cover the whole box and dice of a production Hyperion Full History Service, everything from Theory to Deployment and Operation.

Introduction to WAX Hyperion Full History

The 15.1 sub article explains the building blocks and concepts of the Hyperion Full History Service.

Build WAX Hyperion Software Components

The 15.2 sub article walks through the process of building each component of the Hyperion Full History Service.
