Welcome to the first edition of the GoodGuys Digest. We are EOSphere, a standby Block Producer (BP) for the EOS network. We also manage a proxy voting account, named goodguys4eos, which we use to assign votes to BPs that we believe in. The purpose of this digest is to bring you news from the Block Producers that we’re voting for. Hope you enjoy :)

shEOS (account: sheos21sheos)

shEOS is the first female founded Block Producer on the EOS blockchain network. They are currently ranked 55 and have hold 0.72% of votes by token holders. They are self-funded, and independently led by a team of international entrepreneurs, technologists, and engineers.

Recently shEOS announced a partnership with Kingsland University to provide scholarships for girls. An offshoot of SMMU (Social Media Marketing University), Kingsland University is a global education provider specialising in blockchain technology. The scholarship program will sponsor technology scholarships for girls in grades 3–5, who live in marginalized 2nd and 3rd world countries. For more information, visit their Steemit post.

In other news, shEOS recently announced the release of a protocol for moving Ethereum-based tokens to the EOS blockchain, making it easy for dApp developers to migrate their application. For more detail, read shEOS’ article.

dutchEOS (account: dutcheosxxxx)

Based in the Netherlands, dutchEOS are a group of EOS enthusiasts who became heavily involved before the launch in April. dutchEOS is 100% owned by three co-founders; Arjen, Jan and Joost. They maintain a blog in which they include news and tutorials. dutchEOS is also a launch block producer partner for the Telos network. They are currently ranked 115 and have hold 0.05% of votes by token holders.

In September, dutchEOS announced the release of their new vote tracking tool, VoteNet. They built this tool as an alternative to many of the general vote explorer tools out their in EOS land. VoteNet allows you to make sense of EOS voting patterns. The tool organises the voting data into a network graph, relating block producers to the accounts voting for them. This gives you a powerful visual way to explore voting behavior. Jan explains the tool in detail in the video below.

EOS Costa Rica (account: costaricaeos)

EOS Costa Rica deploys bare-metal servers and currently has a node installed in San José, Costa Rica. They are ranked 87 and have hold 0.32% of votes by token holders. Their mission is to provide the EOS platform with geographical and political diversity by operating the most robust, independent, bare-metal Block Producer possible from Costa Rica. Rodrigo Fernandez, the founder, has a company which is running 2 BTC full nodes, DASH nodes, Stellar and Gridcoin nodes. You can view the full stack of technology that the team uses.

Local initiative — EOS Costa Rica organises the #CryptoCantina, a meetup in every Thursday in Paseo Colon. No speakers, no agenda, just networking and meeting new people in the space.

Learning resources — EOS Costa Rica have published an exhaustive list of well-curated education resources.

EOS Costa Rica is a producer partner for the upcoming launch of the WORBLI network, a blockchain project also using the eosio software.
