Cloud Lovers, re-join! ‘Robin’ by Nextbit Coming to India

Founded by two Google employees, Tom Moss and Mike Chan, Nextbit’s main aim is to leverage cloud functionality at its best. Their first smartphone, ‘Nextbit Robin’ is already available in US starting with the approximate price of $400. Now, the company has announced their plans to enter in India by the end of April.

Robin smartphone is manufactured by Nextbit through crowdfunding. The phone is marketed as “Cloud-first” where it utilizes Nextbit’s own cloud storage to store the data which are not used for a long period of time.


The specifications include 5.2" Full HD (1920 x 1080) IPS display and is powered by Snapdragon 808 hexacore processor with 3GB of RAM. The photography part is handled by 13MP camera with dual LED flash at the back and 5MP shooter at front for selfies and video calls. For audio lovers, Robin carries dual speakers and dual amplifiers for better sound output. Just like Sony Xperia Z5, Robin embraces fingerprint scanner into the power key on the right.

The device comes with 32GB ROM and 100GB of cloud storage on their own server where your apps, videos, images can be automatically stored.

Connectivity options includes all the basics like NFC, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 4.0 and GPS. The battery capacity is 2,680 mAh and comes with quick charging. It runs Android Lollipop out of the box with the promise of Marshmallow down the road.
