Introduction of the Fourth Domain Expert Candidate — Andy, CEO of Nexusguard

Brief Introduction of Andy

The digital twin has been hailed as “the highest stage of the digital economy”? What does it mean? And how does it point to the future of AI together with the hottest concept of “metaverse”?

All the questions will be answered by Andy, the newest domain expert in EpiK Protocol’s Intelligent Transportation.

Andy, the current CEO of Nexusguard, an information security provider, graduated from the School of Electrical and Electronic Engineering at Nanyang Technological University, one of the world’s largest engineering schools, which is ranked 6th in the world in the 2020 QS University Rankings (Electrical and Electronic Engineering). While at university, Andy earned a Master’s degree in Technology Entrepreneurship and Innovation from NTU’s Nanyang Technology and Entrepreneurship Centre.

During his time leading Nexusguard’s strategy development and daily work, Andy worked with hundreds of service providers around the world, including telecom, Internet, and mobile operators, to provide a variety of information security solutions for governments and enterprises. In the process, he discovered that the next stage of IoT smart cities — digital twin cities — is relevant to improve the operational efficiency of cities and assist in decision making in transportation and government, helping humans to recognize and manage the real world more efficiently while also providing valuable information for the “metaverse” process of human production and life.

Andy applied to be the domain expert of EpiK Protocol’s intelligent transportation area, hoping to use EpiK Protocol’s high-quality data annotation integration service capability to, on the one hand, provide people with a more realistic and immersive experience in the meta-universe based on digital twin technology through accurate annotation services; on the other hand, generate higher scientific algorithms based on annotation services to enable decisions and events to be “previewed” in the digital twin world first, helping to reduce the trial and error costs of real-world urban operations.

Comparison of the real world and the digital twin world

And all this cannot be done without the efforts in data annotation. Through accurate and high-quality data labeling, we can obtain better algorithms to make wiser decisions.

In real-world road conditions, autonomous driving algorithms can be trained for up to 24 hours a day. In the digital twin world, this number can reach a staggering 10,000 hours a day. Moreover, the response of autonomous driving algorithms in multiple scenarios such as roadblocks, earthquakes, floods and mudslides, which are difficult to test under real road conditions, can be easily simulated in the digital twin world.

In the near future, we will even be able to simulate driving license exams in a digital twin world. Only autonomous driving algorithms that have passed various extreme scenario tests will be able to obtain a digital license to hit the road.

From today, Andy will work with EpiK Protocol to enhance the rendering power of AI to bring the real world into the digital twin world and the digital twin world out of the real world, enabling reality to shine into the virtual and the virtual to guide reality.

“Metaverse + AI”, the distributed digital world is one step closer to us.
