Some of the most innovative opportunities often arise from moments of difficulty.

This was precisely the mindset at Epik amidst a global pandemic, that forced millions of people to spend much more time confined at home, rather than out at stadium-filled events. With over 3 years of operational experience, we wanted to take a step back and re-evaluate how the pandemic will change engagement as we know it, especially with the advent of NFTs in the blockchain space.

Our strength has always been in connecting our ecosystem of giants — like the Warner, Tencent and Universal — with the emerging digital world. Through hundreds of existing partnerships, we were able to take a pole position in bridging existing brands and celebrities with digital experiences, generating rare NFT drops and other exclusive access-points for millions of fans.

At Epik, we imagine a world where you are playing an RPG game, while building a virtual music career in the process and interacting with real DJs like Blasterjaxx or Lucas & Steve in-game. Not only would that greatly enhance your personal experience, but it would also connect the virtual world to real life. On top of that, music artists and creators of all kinds, can receive additional streams of digitally generated revenue while being able to engage with their fans through a new medium.

Multiple examples have already been successfully executed since the pandemic struck. Amongst them has been a Chantel Jeffries playing a series of concerts within the game Avankin Life — a SIMS-like virtual game that allows users to socialise, attend the album launch and listen to real music while being in-game. Another crossover involving music giants was an event with Korn, the famous Nu Metal band, who’s classic and new hits were used in a themed boss battle in the Adventure Quest games.

Both of these examples are really just scratching the surface of what Epik introduces to this space. Despite the NFT space still being in its infancy, Epik has already achieved what nobody would have thought was possible. Both examples have laid out a clear roadmap and proven a demand for a new layer of interaction and engagement for brands, studios, and celebrities.

At Epik, we host over 350 game company clients including half of the top 25 game companies in the world. Among them, we represent the likes of Netease and Garena, and top brands such as World of Dance, Sony, DMG, and Ultraman. The list goes on. Moving forward, we eagerly look forward to building out not just an NFT marketplace to buy and sell assets of your favourite brands and creators, but rather re-designing the entire ecosystems of how these brands & creators interact with you.
