Digital art was just the beginning…

From Cryptopunks to sellable memes, Non-fungible tokens (NFTs) exploded this year. NFT sales let digital artists to directly connect with their fans, preserve their artwork on the blockchain, and provided a new revenue stream too. But, what do you do with Beeple’s Everyday: the First 5000 Days after admiring it fifty times? The valuable NFT sits inside an ERC-20 wallet and the owner probably sees its token id more than the actual collage. The ways NFT owners will interact with their NFTs will change in a big way when NFTs expand from digital artwork to music, games and beyond.

The music we choose is the soundtrack to everyday life. We leave our favorite songs on repeat and post dance videos on Tiktok. Unlike digital artwork, we want to hear and share the songs we love over and over. A digital item that is used every day is more valuable than one that is rarely used. Music brings people together and if you own one of the unreleased The Weeknd songs which are being sold as NFTs, you can have a private concert with your crew at any time.

Epik Prime is a pioneer for bringing musicians into digital spaces. They created a boss battle with Nu-Metal band Korn in Adventure Quest 3D and held a virtual concert that brought Lucas & Steve into the virtual social space Avakin Life. Going to a concert is an experience and one you can remember with a t-shirt or remixed album you could only get at the event. Epik Prime is developing digital collectibles like these and have clients that are the biggest music labels — Spinnin’ Records, Universal, and Warner Music Group. With the power of the blockchain, these items will be truly collectable too. By making limited-edition merchandise as NFTs, fans know these virtual items are one-of-a-kind and will retain or even grow in value over time.

Fans will even be able to show off their NFT wrapped merch inside virtual worlds too. For example, Epik Prime brought sportswear company HEAD into Avakin Life to create avatar items. Players could see their custom created character wear one of HEAD’s puffer coats whenever they login. Digital merchandise for a virtual concert would work the same way, but the items would be limited to fans that showed up at the event. When your character walks around with a Guns n’ Roses 2021 virtual concert shirt, everyone knows you are a true fan.

Crossovers with video games will be even more EPIK. Epik Prime arranged a massive collaboration that brought the iconic superhero Ultraman into Tencent’s Arena of Valor, the most popular mobile MOBA game in the world. Players could control Ultraman and use his Spectrum Beam to blast their opponents. This is an experience fans could only dream of and Epik Prime brought it to life. Stay tuned for future collabs where NFTs can give players access to actually play as their favorite characters.

Epik Prime has a track record of making crossovers a reality. This comes from Epik Prime’s unique experience partnering with game developers and the biggest brands in the world. With Epik, there are endless combinations between multiple brands and games to make truly unique collector sets that have never before been possible. Get ready to collect an explosion of really cool new ideas!
