Using whiteboard.chat for distanced learning

With the academic year getting started, various challenges with distanced learning are starting to emerge. Conferencing tools address the audio and video needs to some extent. The free form instructional aspects of a classroom, such as writing a problem on a whiteboard and watching students work on it, taking notes as a teacher writes on a whiteboard, walking up to the whiteboard to participate are sorely missed. Our team at epiphani noticed these shortcomings and saw this as a perfect opportunity to reuse a tool we had developed internally for our team to collaborate.

Whiteboard.chat allows technology to step aside and let teachers do what they do best, walk up to a whiteboard, illustrate a concept and build the lesson on the whiteboard, gradually allowing students to absorb the material.

A teacher can pause and allow any student to walk up and try to solve a problem on the board. Challenging students and keeping them engaged.

To put a cherry on top, teachers can write up a problem, and watch as each student works on it in their own board !
