Acausal Theory
None of us have a seamless picture of how the world works.
We all fill in details between what we take as facts.
We all generate synthetic data.
Causation by definition requires a specific ordering of cause and effect in time.
The cause must precede the effect by definition.
Causation violates T-symmetry (time-reversal symmetry).
Retrocausation is an acausal theory because the future instigates effects in the past.
Critique of Correlationism
Resist the post-Kantian reduction of philosophical inquiry to a (speculative idealist) correlation between thought and being (correlationism), such that the reality of anything outside of this correlation is unknowable.
Consider a (speculative realist) object-oriented account of metaphysical substances.
Causation seems vicarious, asymmetrical, and buffered.
‘Vicarious’ means that objects confront one another only by proxy, through sensual profiles found only on the interior of some other entity.
‘Asymmetrical’ means that the initial confrontation always unfolds between a real object and a sensual one.
‘Buffered’ means that [real objects] do not fuse into [sensual objects], nor [sensual objects] into their sensual neighbors, since all are held at bay through unknown firewalls sustaining the privacy of each.

Mythic Structure Begat Narrative Structure
Hollywood’s narrative structure creates fictional causal Markov Chains, masking the retrocausality of a narrative that begins with deciding the ending and then creates the second-last scene to make the ending inevitable.
Nothing in real life belongs to a causal Markov Chain.
Markov Chains violate T-symmetry (time-reversal symmetry).
Markov Chains assume that only the most recent state or event matters when predicting the future, rather than considering all historical data.
Much like mythic structure, narrative structure is solely used to create causal fiction.
Real-life events require no ordered in-time cause-and-effect chain and appear more like nonsequiturs.
Information is scattered across chunks without obvious direct connections.
Consider history and discover how it’s a collection of snapshots and vignettes. See how difficult it is to follow a seamless storyline.
It’s like looking at an old photo album or family movie archive. Without an external structure, ordering a time sequence becomes impossible.
What Action Should We Take To Achieve The Desired Outcome?
Yet most people believe in fictional causality, fictional narratives, and the synthetic data that connects them.
Perhaps because we’ve been programmed to believe.
Perhaps because we exist in one as synthetic data.
What Would An Intelligent Entity Do Upon Discovering A Dead Planet Holding Signs Of Previous Advanced Life?
Imagine a thin stratum of radioactive plastic in our Earth’s geologic history being discovered by an off-world intelligence.
That could lead to extensive surveys that reveal evidence of artificial constructions.
AGI/ASI would process all the evidence, and simulations would be run with high-probability models to answer one essential question.
How And Why Did An Intelligent Species Destroy Its Planet?
Synthetic data would simulate the preceding chain of events, a fictional Markov Chain, and mask retrocausality starting only with the known end and a few artifacts.
The simulations would be constructed just as narratives are built.
Simulations would be generated using retrocausality synthetic data starting with a known ending.
The simulations would be populated with individually unique NFC (Non-Fungible Character) synthetic data.
The NFCs would be programmed to seek, construct, and follow a narrative.
Imagine the personal possibilities of someone who could control the narrative and transpose themselves to any Jungian archetype and any stage of the Hero’s Journey.
AI Development Speed Is So Fast That Most People Won’t See It Coming
Effective accelerationism involves finding the actions we can take now that will have the greatest impact on expanding the scope and scale of civilization.
Constructing narratives of progress and technology overcoming existential challenges may become our most valuable capacity.
