The EQL DAPP Store
DAPPs and DEXs are the beacon of decentralization that continues to be under promoted, under utilized and under appreciated.
Following our series, you have seen The Importance of Decentralization and witnessed the detailed features of The EQL Wallet. In line with our vision, we plan to congregate the fragments of the Ethereum Network into one tool able to interact with the purpose of the Ethereum vision. Vitalik Buterin provided the ability for anyone to build an application powered by the Ethereum blockchain but the original vision needs to be expanded further.
We have seen many tools that surround the Ethereum Network that lack the ability to promote the network as a whole. Specifically, we will focus on wallets. The evolution of technology sees that every 10–15 years more complete models of computing emerge. “New models of computing have tended to emerge every 10 to 15 years: mainframes in the 60s, PCs in the late 70s, the internet in the early 90s, and smartphones in the late 2000s,” Marc Andreessen, who essentially created the web browser. EQUAL aims to streamline this process, by providing a comprehensive tool that couples the financial capabilities of a portfolio and the ability to explore and interact with the decentralized web. This is what the industry is lacking, a tool with the ability to reduce the complexities involved with blockchain interaction, yet has all the necessary features to comprehensively utilize the Ethereum Network.
The first statement of this piece is vital to EQUAL, it will be used as a war cry. DAPPs and DEXs can resonate with this statement as most critics believe the decentralized web has not exploded due to the lack of the “killer app”. Yet, we believe that the tools in the market have not found the ability to onboard wallet users to DAPPs and provide the exposure necessary to unveil that “killer app”. The EQL DAPP Store aims to alleviate the barrier to exposure that most developers currently face.
Introducing The EQL DAPP Store
The EQL DAPP Store Features:
- Featured Section: Large banner exposure of hand-picked top quality DAPPs and DEXs
- Search function allowing users to browse Ethereum applications on the Decentralised web
- Categories: Varying categories dependent on whether a DAPP or DEX, the genre/purpose specific to the application
- Popular Category: Based on APP.co Twitter mentions and social media popularity
- New Category: Showing new DAPPs and DEXs developed
- Live updates of newly added DAPPs provided through our partnership with Blockstacks API (APP.co)
In conclusion, The EQL Wallet will be the portal that removes the complexities involved with investing in blockchain projects but more importantly utilizing and exploring the decentralized web in a manner never seen before. DAPP and DEX developers will now have an avenue to showcase their products and onboard users from wallets. This aims to alleviate the investment dominance problem and provides the transition from investment to utility on the Ethereum Network.
