“Phoenix has a small art and design community and before I graduate, and eventually leave the state, I want to make connections and some sort of impact on the community to help it get bigger. A project I’d love to do eventually is called Creative Works, it‘s a pop up art workshop where art and design professionals go to different schools teaching kids about art and how it exists in the real world. There’s little to no representation in the design fields for Black and Latinx communities and we have to change that…

This might sound cheesy but follow your heart and fight the power. Your gut is always right so use that as your compass.”

This summer Jewel was our Design and Strategy Associate where she worked her rainbow magic design skills to rebrand Creative Reaction Lab. She was also responsible for naming this publication and playing the Moana soundtrack every other day. Checkout her portfolio online or connect with her on LinkedIn.

If you’d like to be the next Everyday Community Designer, share your pledge with us here and we will be in touch for an interview.
