Do Black Writers Have An Obligation to Write About Racism?

I always felt I had some sort of obligation to write about race as a Black writer. I have no idea why. It’s not like anyone sits near my desk every night commanding me to spill my guts on race or else. Yet there’s some type of underlying pressure that Black content creators need to center their art around race. Why?
