Crypto DeFiance Wrap-Up
After much planning and anticipation, it’s happened: a critical mass of decentralized finance players and enthusiasts convened in Singapore the day after BlockShow Asia 2019 to cover just about every angle of the growing DeFi space.
There were representatives from virtually every consequential project in this sector in attendance, as well as a number of upstart projects. Equilibrium’s Crypto DeFiance event gave these people a place to meet, network, and share ideas with each other.
The event consisted of a day of panel discussions and live presentations with leaders in the DeFi space. Changelly CEO Eric Benz, MakerDAO APAC community lead Jocelyn Chang, Crypton co-founder Alex Koumpas, and derivatives trader Tone Vays were among the headliners for the agenda. Equilibrium CEO Alex Melikhov made a presentation about stablecoins and their importance for global DeFi.
Representatives from heavyweight crypto organizations like Huobi, Kyber Network, Bancor, Ledger, and EOS Israel, all figured in the conference agenda. From the evolution of money to the role of stablecoins to DeFi liquidity and the Power of decentralized exchanges, it seems no stone was left unturned in bringing DeFi topics fronter and center within the crypto community.
Far from being some small casual meetup, the inaugural edition of Crypto DeFiance seems to have hit the ground running. The conference filled out the basement assembly area of the National Gallery of Singapore all day Saturday, and the reception was exceedingly positive.
The event established some strong momentum and a vote of confidence for DeFi’s rise, using blockchain technology to make more financial services available in places where they might not be. The only question on anyone’s mind was how long they’ll have to wait for the next one!
