I have been to Bulgaria in the past, but after that trip, Bansko will always have a special place in my heart. Taking part in such a project can help you understand how easily someone can create a bond with people that they have just met.

The trip wasn’t that tiring if you consider that Greece and Bulgaria are neighboring countries, and as a result, it took us only 4 hours to arrive at our final destination. Because of the chance that Erasmus+ gave us, we saw how beautiful a place like Bansko can be with the breathtaking mountains and the traditional architecture, especially in the old town.

Admiring the mountains, in combination with the topic of the project, which was very related to the environment, made us realize how important it is to protect nature at all costs.

Luckily, the time that we went (05/11 -13/11) was off-season, and because of that, we enjoyed the peaceful environment around us. Unfortunately, the weather wasn’t in our favor because it was pretty rainy, but that couldn’t stop us from exploring the city.

Another problem that we had to solve was the different currencies. However, this issue was easily solved because of the exchange shops that were taking place in many different spots in the city.

None of these little problems stopped us from loving this destination so much. Bulgaria was a great experience for all of us; we learned many new things about environmental issues and HoReCa that we didn’t know. Also, we had the chance to see such a beautiful, must-winter destination.

What am I suggesting to you?

If you are a lover of mountainous views, then you have to visit Bansko during winter.
