Picture this: A room full of people attempting to dance like nobody’s watching. Welcome to the project “HeArt 2.0.: Heroes of Art”, a journey of self-discovery through the magic of creative expression.

hello

The topic of the project

In this project, we worked on our mental health through different artistic disciplines such as dance, music, painting, creative writing, and theatre. The primary goal is to empower individuals to explore and understand their strengths, weaknesses, and emotions, leading to greater self-awareness and improved self-management.

Body painting

The activities were enjoyable! I really liked the body painting! This temporary art form allowed us to become both artists and masterpieces. The body painting activity was not just about the visual spectacle; it was a celebration of self-expression and creativity, with participants freely sharing ideas and techniques, collaborating, and having fun!

Creative writing

Another impressive activity was the creative writing! We randomly draw cards from 5 bowls for the main character of the story, the plot, the location, the timeline, and the genre of the story. The tools were just a pen and plenty of imagination! Through this activity, I realized that writing has a unique ability to unlock emotions, allowing participants to explore their inner worlds. And this was my story:

“In the moonlight of 2063, our Erasmus group gathered at the remote farm in Grunewald for the last project, HeArt 42.0. Little did we know, the farm had a dark secret.

During our intercultural event, there was a mysterious box with a label “Taste me” on the table of Greek team. Curiosity got the better of us, and we couldn’t resist the temptation of trying the secret index. Suddenly, we found ourselves in a twist of fate and our bodies swapped with our Erasmus peers. Laughter echoed through the farm as we realized the chaos of our swapped identities. I found myself in our organizer’s body (Chito) while the real Chito was in my shoes, eating ‘gyros with tzatziki.’

But this comedy ended up in horror, as a strange noise echoed and ghostly shadows danced on the walls. We didn’t know that we had awakened ancient spirits who once worked as farmers on the land. Panic set in as I tried desperately to escape and convince the spectral farmers that we had no intention of unsettling them. While I was running, I slided in the mud of the pigs. The pigs ran over me, and I died in this dirty way.”

The meaning

So, what does the term ‘heroes of art’ really mean? Everyone interprets it differently. After this project, I understood the following: when someone faces challenges and finds the remedy in art, then he is a hero of art!”
