ACTION CAM FOR A VIDEO
Welcome to a special quarantine edition of Weekly Updates! It just happened to be really big and juicy this time, our team is doing a terrific progress, so without further ado let’s just slap into it.
PS — wanna get an action cam for your awesome challenges?
🌟 A MASSIVE iOS UPDATE IS OUT
We are pleased to announce that the most massive (yet!) update for iOS in 2020 is up and running! This update gave the Dare App a drastically improved look: new challenge cards, new buttons, new feeds, new challenge detail cards — everything is brand new. This great work has affected many processes that have also been optimized. The new design is already available to all users — don’t hesitate to give it a try.
🤳🏻 UPSALE AFTER A CHALLENGE IS TAKEN
We’re gonna be offering more exciting opportunities to our customers after they take a challenge. They are aimed at making it easier and faster for them to complete those challenges. The concept and design of the two screen options are ready. These screens will be run under an A/B test, as the value of options such as votes, views and VIP status will be compared.
— 200 additional views (increases your chances to get to the top of the feed)
— all votes are multiplied by x2
— 10 000 points (brings you up in the leaderboard)
— VIP status including all the privileges
We believe that this will greatly impact the amount of uploaded content.
🎁 ACTION CAM FOR A VIDEO
We continue to involve users in content creation and sharing. There will be a competition for users in the next release. The prize is an action camera. The rules are simple: you need to take a Challenge and get as many votes as you can. At the end of April, the user with the most votes will get a nice action cam😎
📈 INCREASING LOYALTY
We have noticed that the lifetime of users in the application has significantly increased, so our team developed a concept for a mini loyalty program aimed at bringing users back to the application. The terms and design are finished. In the near future the task will be transferred to development.Let us remind you that this option will have a strong impact on retention, as it is aimed at ensuring that users come in every day for 7 days in a row.
What are we doing next?
🔐 UNLOCK THE APP
We have developed a hypothesis that the current acceptance rate for Challenges can be improved by 30%. Such a result can be achieved if you ask a user what are their preferences: Watcher? or a Player? If they choose to “watch”, they will be redirected to the home feed — watch videos and vote for them. In case if a user chooses to “play”, they will be redirected to the screen of open challenges, and all other functions will not be available. In order to unlock the rest of the screens, a user must take any open challenge.
🎥 VIDEO PLAYER CONCEPT
As we are witnessing an increase in interest in watching content, and as our users have become more active in generating new videos, we plan to develop a video player to make the watching experience more convenient and seamless. At the moment we are at the stage of concept development.
🎞 VIDEO TUTORIAL IN OPEN CHALLENGES
We’re continuing to work on raising the acceptance rate. To do this, we plan to implement the ability to watch a small tutorial/example in the Open Challenges feed, so that users can watch how the challenge is performed by other users. We expect that this will increase the confidence in all the Challenges, and especially the hard ones, which have a significant reward.
🔠 HINTS TESTS KEEP ON ROLLING
We continue to test out different hints versions. In the near future we will test the display of the “unfinished purchase hint” on the screen of open challenges in case if a user has had a failed attempt to take a challenge. We assume that the additional notification will reduce the number of failed attempts.
