Ain’t No Mountain High Enough
Hey, it’s Alex here! Today I’m gonna be in charge of keeping you up-to-date with our progress.
Every single Friday since 2018 our founder Nikita has been providing you with the team’s latest updates. So let’s give him a break and make some changes for today.
Speaking of changes, we have passed through many of these within the last few months. Like anyone else we faced consequences of the COVID-19 outbreak and the global quarantine. And we have successfully adapted to this new environment.
Our processes have become even more efficient, planned, and organized. We analyze each step that we take while team members, that are spread across five countries, are isolated at home. We are all united in the desire to build the greatest app that brings fun and joy to all Gen Z users out there.
Of course, there are more changes waiting for us in the future. After all, 2020 is not over yet :) But there’s one thing that we’re certain about: the pandemic will eventually end, but our contribution to making this world a happier place will stay forever.
Thanks for staying with us too and let’s move to details of our weekly achievements.

Here’s why this week was exciting
🎞 ANIMATION OF LIKES AND VOTES ON iOS
This feature works very well! We’re seeing an increasing positive impact on the amount of likes (+5%) and votes (+3%). The color of the bubble however, might be an issue. It seems like users can’t notice it immediately. So we will be conducting certain tests to change the color / position of the bubble with points so that it captures more attention.
🌄 ONBOARDING VS WELCOME VIDEO
We continue testing various onboarding screens. This time we compare a regular onboarding with a welcome video where users will see how exactly can they accept challenges and how to earn on it.
👁 VIEWS BOOST 2.0
We launched a few new options to boost your video views amount after you commit to a challenge. Now users can choose one of the three options for boosting their stats:
— 100 views
— 500 views
— 1,000 views
This feature is very popular because users want to complete more challenge and views boost helps them take top positions in the Main Feed for getting more votes.
💬 DEEPLINKING IN NOTIFICATIONS ON iOS
We have finished implementing this feature which help users open different screens tapping on push-notification.
The following screen options will be available in the next release:
— exclusive challenge
— challenge card on My Challenges screen
— challenge card on Open Challenges feed
We assume this feature will impact the rate of taking challenges as well as the proof rate.
What are we doing next?
🔙 100% REFUNDABLE ENTRANCE FEE
Yes, you read it right. The entrance fee will be refunded to your account after a challenge is completed. We will start working on this hypothesis that presumably will help decreasing the amount of rejections on the accepting stage. We assume this feature will bring more trust when users take a challenge.
💎 EXCLUSIVE CONTENT UPGRADE
Exclusive content is becoming more and more popular. We will upgrade some of our videos. We plan to add a few extra seconds (pre-roll and post-roll) with explanation on how Dare App can be utilized in various ways. It’s going to be anything from taking a challenge to a cashout. Scripts and copies are in process already.
💸 EXTRA BONUS FOR A CHALLENGE
We want to test a hypothesis about extra bonus for challenges. We plan to make a fixed deadline for uploading a proof. It means that if users upload their video before the deadline they would get extra coins or gold to their challenge reward amount. It will keep users motivated to prove their challenges even more faster.
👥 MULTIPLAYER USER FLOW DESIGN
We realized that our current screens for challenges are not suitable for Multiplayer concept. So we will have to make a special design for Multiplayer.
New screens include:
- confirmation for the entrance fee;
- a screen after joining a challenge;
- upload proof screen;
- challenge completed screen.
