Popular challenge platform, Eristica, is on its way to its Q2 roadmap milestone: the launch of the long-awaited version 4.

So far, Eristica has garnered a cult following in Asia, with tens of thousands of users registered as of May 2018. Blockchain developer and entrepreneur, Michael Taggart, has signed on as an advisor, along with Stan Larimer bringing their experience from Quintric, Cryptonomex, and BitShares.

A few days ago Eristica posted a developer’s update on Medium regarding Eristica 4.0. While the developers were tight-lipped as usual, we did get a glimpse at the features to come.

New Features in Eristica 4.0

Independent App Review

The devs of Eristica are aiming to deliver a product that is as technically flawless as it is pleasing to use. To accomplish this, they’ve hired an independent agency to review and test the beta versions of the platform. The independent firm will work closely with end users and UX specialists to improve the graphical user interface of the platform.

Revamped Onboarding Process

Eristica is introducing a new onboarding process and design. On the Medium post, a flowchart hinted at the new process for users watching videos, voting, and accepting challenges, although many of the descriptions and boxes were blurred to prevent abuse of the system.

User Profiles

Finally, a complete profile system will be implemented! This is a feature users have been asking about for a while, and it looks like we will finally see it come to the platform later this week. No further details were announced, but we expect it to include basic photo, username, store, transactions, notifications, challenge dashboard and other user info features.

Challenge Items

Look forward to new challenges. No word yet on what the actual challenges will entail, but users that accept and succeed will be rewarded with ERT tokens.

Revised Analytics and Reduced Data Transfer

All traffic is funneled through a single URL, allowing developers to better analyze the most used interactions for improving the app’s functionality. Users with trouble updating will rejoice at this news. The whole effort took a rewrite of code on both the frontend and backend.

The Most Requested Feature

Of course, the post would not be complete without an update on the most requested addition to Eristica- its exchange listing. When will it be listed? Where will it be listed? These questions have popped up frequently on comments, Telegram chats, and emails.

Eristica’s response - good things come to those who wait. The company does not want to list hastily, both for the value of the token and because of due diligence with several authorities. For further details, the waiting game continues. Eristica planned to join an exchange back in April.

“All we can tell you: Do you want us to list on a dummy/no name exchange tomorrow?” wrote Nikita Akimov, Founder of Eristica, “Probably not.”

“You want us to list on a well known one. We do as well.”

Other Q2 Expectations

Aside from Eristica’s exchange listing, there are other milestones they hope to hit this quarter.

ERT Wallet Launch

Another widely requested feature- the ability to store tokens in a wallet. While a few makeshift solutions are roaming in the wild, an official Eristica wallet has yet to be announced.

World challenge platform

Also referred to as WCP 1.0 platform, this will be the hub for some of the most internationally popular challenges, and will come with token payouts, at the challenge of greater global competition.

Game Publisher Meetups

A great way to build community and create new ideas is through fan events, like the game publisher meetups proposed for Q2. These events will bring those who create challenges with challengers. Some will be fun photo opportunities, others will demonstrate the charitable power of ERT. These events are focused on getting more insights and needs from the game dev community as well as getting some feedback on the solutions Eristica is planning to deliver to publishers.

ERT Offerings Marketplace

It’s one thing to get tokens for winning challenges, it’s another to be able to spend it on tangible goods and services. That’s what the ERT Offerings Marketplace will aim to achieve. Imagine getting a discount for a hotel just for taking part in a challenge, or buying new headphones for scoring on the leaderboard (Black mirror anyone?).

Expected delays

These delays are to be expected in an environment such as Eristica. Much of it is still relatively new, and the developers are experiencing the same developmental delays that the early social networks experienced, or that video games and other software developers continue to experience. But Eristica remains a unique platform with few competitors. Hopefully Eristica 4.0 will bring more answers and features that we’ve all been waiting for.
