Hope this update finds you well! It’s been quite a busy week and now is a perfect time to sum everything up, analyze all the tasks and challenges we faced and make plans for the next week! This is what we’re doing every week at Eristica & our #updatebakery. Fasten your seatbelts, let’s dive into the product update
💎 EXCLUSIVE CONTENT IN HOME FEED
We got a mind-blowing impact on ARPU with this test! It’s x2 compared to the previous value. These results are much higher than we predicted, so it means that this feature should definitely be available to all users (not only a B group of the A/B test). So that’s exactly what we are going to do it in the next release. We have also received a statistical confirmation that such offers in the home feed impact an overall user behaviour in the app. Which is cool.
📹 VIDEO CATEGORIES
We have retrospectively analysed all of our content and have divided it in various categories. Such as «funny», «gaming», «humor», «cringe» etc. We will track which content is more popular and more preferable to our users in the current cohort. Then we will have an understanding of how to manage this content in the future —always keep in mind that the right sorting and clusterizing of content is a primary foundation of your retention rate.
🔠 HOME FEED TESTS AGAIN
We continue to find ways to make our AI algorithm of tbhe home feed more engaging for users. Users are grouped in segments based on their likes, votes, views and other parameters. When new users will open the main feed they will get the most relevant content for their segment. Every video item gets its own place in the home feed depending on the amount of likes, views, comments and multiple other variables. We expect the retention to increase because this sorting presumably makes the overall content more relevant.
🤳 UPSALE AFTER A CHALLENGE IS TAKEN 2.0
As we mentioned in the previous update, this feature has already attracted users’ attention. And as of this moment we can state that it becomes a valuable addition to our ARPU. We will make it available for all users in the next release (not only a B group of the A/B test). We have also finished the design of the second test of this feature that contains several options of views boosts, so we are ready to start the development.
What are we doing next?
📱 MY CHALLENGES SCREEN ON iOS
We have the old design of My Challenges screen on iOS with a lot of excess information that causes unnecessary requests to our backend, so it’s time to make it easier and consequently faster. We will take the Android version for a template and adapt it for iOS. This screen is very important for users when it comes to tracking their activity.
🌠 HOME FEED EXCLUSIVES ARE COMING TO iOS
We will start working on the design of the Exclusive Challenge Card in the Home Feed on iOS. As we mentioned above it’s a very useful and cool feature. We will make it live as soon as possible.
🔜 SORTING OF RANDOM CHALLENGES
We are starting to develop an AI algorithm for Random Challenges as well.
That’s what we’re using:
— what challenges are the most popular on this screen (gold or game coin)
— challenge’s launch date (for saving fresh content in the Feed)
It will help users to make more diversified content.
🆕 UPSALE AFTER A CHALLENGE IS TAKEN 3.0
We have a hypothesis about the right positioning of this feature. We will wait for the test results of Upsale 2.0 (views only) and then we will change the positioning.
This screen will be shown in three places:
— after a challenge is taken
— after a proof is uploaded
— both simultaneously
We suppose that placing this option after uploading a proof will increase the number of upsale purchases.
