She was his and he was hers. A pair of turtledoves, perched on their favorite branch, watching the world function below. The sun was a rising orb shining brightly in the cocooned room. The birds chirped in hushed tones as their feathers fluttered to their next destination. The sound of ocean waves crashing kept them in their dreamlike state. It was the natural lullaby that put all minds to rest.

Was that a slight twitch of the toes? Fingers? It could be a trick of the mind, but even so, it would be better to return to silence.

For soon they will be awake…

Chocolate eyes peeled open at the sound of movement. She was gazing at the ceiling, noticing the painted baby blue sky, and clouds of various colors appeared to be moving. The image rotated counterclockwise in a slow, dreamy motion. She chalked it up to the grogginess that covered her like a sheet. Her neck muscles popped softly as she craned her neck to inspect the rest of her surroundings. She was naked in bed with an equally naked man. He also was coming to, his memory just as foggy as hers.
