Her Husband Dared her to Take on Another Man
The opportunity came so soon she didn’t have time to think
Sara sat at a table in the bar and grille. She wasn’t hungry but ordered a burger and fries with a dark beer. Her thoughts were swirling. Her emotions were jumbled and confused.
What in the hell happened today, she muttered and shook her head.
Just then, a man approached her at her table.
“I don’t mean to bother you, ma'am, but I noticed you were eating alone, and I am alone too. I am new in town and just wondered if you would mind some company,” he said as though it were a question.
Sara was not in the mood, but his charm disarmed her.
“I suppose it's ok,” she said, motioning to the seat across from her.
“A little light conversation with dinner is all I ask. I travel a lot and like to talk with people.”
Sam told her he was a traveling salesman for industrial equipment and was staying in a nearby hotel.
“What about you? Are you also in town on business?”
“No, I live here. I just needed to get out of the house for a while and stopped here to eat,” she said and managed a nervous chuckle.
