Chances are, you’re interested in making the best menu possible for your customers. We’ll cover some design choices you should consider while making your Esca Menu.
First things first
Sign up.
Before you can attempt creating an Esca menu you need to be a part of our eco-system, which is basically a fancy way of saying you need to sign up. Once you’ve signed up you have access to all Esca features at your fingertips.
Lets Build
Once you’ve signed up and picked a plan you can start creating your menus immediately.
Step 1 — New Menu
To create your first Esca menu simply click the purple ‘New Menu’ button at the top right hand side of your screen.
Once clicked, a pop-up box asking you to name your new menu should appear. You should call your menu the name/location of your restaurant/bar. For example, if you have one restaurant in Dublin called ‘Darcy’s’ then you should call your menu Darcys. However, if you have more than one location across the country you should name your menu i.e. Darcys Galway. This will help you, as the menu owner, and also your customers, to differentiate between your locations. If all your locations use the same menu then it’s not that big a deal.
The reason for this is because once your menu is created, the link and QR code to your menu will be directly correlated to your menus name, so choose wisely.
Once you’ve chosen a name try and upload your businesses logo. This will help customers know that they’re browsing your menu once you publish it.
As you can see from above, your menu already has a link, but if you visit that link you’ll be led to an empty page (bar your logo once added) so before we can direct customers to that link we need to make sure there’s something there for them to see.
You can add a logo by clicking the 3 dots on the bottom right of the above image and selecting ‘Edit Logo’. Choose your logo, crop it, click save, and that’s it. You’re ready for the fun part — adding your food & drink 😍
Step 2— Add your menu items
Now that our menu has been created and our logo added it’s time for us to populate it with all our food & drinks.
To do this, we click ‘CUSTOMIZE’ which is located on the bottom left of the above image. Once done we’re taken into our menu, here we will need to add ‘pages’. These pages represent all the different offerings on our menu i.e. Starters, Mains, Desserts, Kids menus etc.
To add these simply click on ‘New Page’ which is again located at the top right hand corner of the screen.
Upon clicking that you’ll be asked to name your new page. Usually a name that coincides with your menu offerings is suitable. For example, if you serve starters you can call your first page ‘Starters’. Remember, you can change the order of your menu items simply by dragging & dropping items to your liking.
Once your new page has been created you now need to add your individual food & drink items. When adding each item you can choose to upload a picture as well as provide allergen information for each meal/drink.
Step 3 — Publish
Once you’ve completed the first 2 steps and are happy with the way your menu is looking, it’s time for you to publish your code so customers can start viewing your menu right away.
You can publish your code by right clicking on the image then ‘Save image as’. This will save your QR code as a picture which you can then print and paste around your establishment.
All Done
For ease of use and better service, all the above can be provided to you by the Esca team. From building your menu to designing stunning labels to house your QR codes, the Esca team can provide it.
