This musical about seeking home and family in unexpected places is a multicultural experience brimming with exquisite costumes and sharp critiques of the patriarchal film industry. Laila Zaidi, playing Frankie, captivates as her character navigates a labyrinth of fiction, blending innocence with sheer determination. Gigi Zahir as Shona, the do-it-all choreographer, brings humour and wit, adorned in fabulous costumes. Katie Stasi as Goldy, Frankie’s pragmatic cousin, embodies common sense, while Helen K Wint’s Malika, the established competitor, adds twists and fun. Geet Sagar’s Raju King, the villain, delivers some of the funniest lines, and Navin Kundra’s Prem rounds out the story with sweetness.

Frankie Goes to Bollywood, which just premiered at Watford Palace Theatre, continues its journey with a three-week run at Southbank, ending on the 18th of August.
