Frieze Art Fair 2024: Highlights In and Out of the Fair
As autumn ushers in its golden hues, so too does Frieze, London’s premier art event, where global galleries and artists gather to present their most compelling work. After the lukewarm reception of last year’s edition, expectations were tempered for 2024. However, the revamped layout and fresh curation sparked intrigue, particularly with emerging galleries positioned at the forefront and blue-chip exhibitors nestled in the back. Gems from Frieze 2024
One of the strongest presentations at Frieze this year came from Yamamoto Keiko Rochaix. Showcasing Magda Stawarska, a multi-disciplinary artist whose work traverses sound, moving images, and print, the gallery brought an immersive experience of urban histories layered over forgotten narratives. Stawarska’s installations, a combination of soundscapes, moving images, and traditional screenprints, evoke a haunting reminder of our neglected pasts.
