The latest Hollywood news is telling us that celebrity ⭐ investing in esports is becoming a trend. Yesterday it became known about Michael Jordan (following Magic Johnson and Tony Robbins) invested in Team Liquid’s parent company — aXiomatic, and not long before this esports 🎮organization 100Thieves has completed its first funding round which was co-led by Drake and Scooter Braun, both now are on the list of “100Thieves” co-owners.

It is known that esports franchises can be worth millions of $ and various iconic sports names are known to have bought in the franchises. And now, with several world’s main superstars becoming involved in esports, we became interested, whether that kind of investment is paying out. So how much do the teams with stars’ investments really make?

1️⃣ Shaquille O’ Neal — invested in the esports team NRG. Their total prize money since March 2016:

🔫 CounterStrike:Global Offensive — $134,520;
👁️ Overwatch — $48,225;
👾 Smite — $500,000.

2️⃣ Magic Johnson and Tony Robbins — invested in aXiomatic (Team Liquid parent company). Their total prize money since September 2016:

🔫 Dota 2 — $226,000;

🕹️ Other games ≈ $300.000.

Esports can be a profitable investment, especially when looking at Team Liquid example. Or your investment might seem to be a long-term one, as Ashton Kutcher and Mark Cuban could make sure of after investing in Unikrn. But we’re sure that the more stars are getting on, the more hype esports gets, which is always good for the industry.
