Esports is the fastest-growing sports group in the world, and yet any game balance can be changed due to one single patch.

Over the course of time, there’s been a number of updates in CS:GO 🔫, that have played a major role in gameplay, and it’s been a few days when Valve rolled out a new patch.

We’ve called it “a tale of two rifles”, because the update may just have switched the focus from AK47 and M4 to other competitive standards. The AUG and SG553 that weren’t the most popular choices by far, were brought to light and turned into a much more attractive choice with its prices being reduced. There’s even more to it, as AUG is considered to be better in terms of a higher damage output and its’ zoom ability. And though AK47 and M4 proved itself as a great choice in CS:GO, a new patch can change things, especially considering individual’s play style and extra bit of stopping power. Another nerf that comes with the patch is the increase of recoil and fire inaccuracy of CZ75a.

Another tangible change that comes with a patch is the shift in the start-of-half economy. Now at the start of each half, both sides will have a one-round loss bonus, increasing the cash pot for teams that lose the pistol round from $1,400 to $1,900 and $2,400 for a subsequent loss, etc.

So how will the patch affects the current gameplay? That’s something yet to be unraveled. But in short, when having more cash in hand at the beginning of each half, there’s a lot of new ideas in the means of strategy and opportunities to level up a personal skill, which is always good for esports.
