Esports pro players punishment?

It’s known that in case of Olympic athletes dope, they are immediately disqualified from the championship. But what are the punishments for esports top players 🎮? While the question of dope in esports is quite tricky, the punishments for misbehavior are absolutely real.

Bad behavior was never tolerated in professional sports, and esports aren’t an exclusion. Actually, it makes even more sense, when talking about esports, as professional players set an example to millions of fans worldwide. And with the constant growth of the industry, pro players should be held to a higher standard.

Even though the fines are nothing major (especially for a pro esports players), calling out these players keeps them in check, as further misbehavior would seriously harm their image and competitive prospects. Here are some details about recent pro players punishments:

1️⃣ Diamondprox: one of the best Russian junglers has been fined $1000 due to “toxic behavior” in the Korean solo queue.
2️⃣ TheShy: a pro player has been fined $1000 for his actions in solo queue where he would grief and express negative behavior.
3️⃣ iloveoov: due to an extremely high rate of reports against this player, his negative attitude in chat logs warranted a $1500 fine.
4️⃣ Uzi: probably, the most known player on the list has received the biggest fine of the four — a $2000 fine for negative behavior in Korean solo queue.

The full list of pro players being punished for bad behavior is much bigger, and it’s not a good sign. But the fact that the industry realizes the impact players can have on their fans, and that the championship organizers are ready to impose fines for esports “blackening” is another proof of cyber sport is a professional sports discipline with rules and regulations (even when it comes to behavior).
