If you are passionate about esports, looking for a career or just want to stay on top of all the industry latest news, you probably have joined a few facebook groups and r/esports. Sometimes we get caught up in other things and don’t stay on top of all the places we could be learning from. There are several things to note about each of these. Since you will be using your own profile, unless you are on Reddit, each time you post you are representing yourself and your brand. Always be cautious about your content and the content that you share. Be prepared for honest replies that are good and bad. I’ve had my handful of hurtful comments and I’ve used them to learn more about my company and myself.

You can join all of these groups if you want to, but its not a requirement by any means, some groups are owned by companies and some are just community managed. Evaluating your needs and the groups goals is a great place to establish which groups are necessary for you! I always tell people that ask questions about knowing more about esports businesses, is to get yourself surrounded by all of the esports professionals you can! Groups are a great place to start and building your own connections.

Some groups are bigger than other and have different connections, yet some are smaller and more personable. Its up to you on which you want to join, but I’ve listed several of the big groups on Facebook and Linkedin.

Reddit Esports

Literally all things Esports, the largest group by far with over 11,000 members, its a go-to place for all your esports needs.

Esports Think Tank — Facebook

Esports Think Tank on Facebook has a little over 200 members as of today and is managed by the guys over at Esports Hero. A small community with a lot of top-notch individuals who look to develop themselves in their careers and esports business community

Esports Think Tank — Linkedin

Similar to the Facebook group, but has over 500 members and is growing fast! One of the newer esports business groups on LinkedIn and is definitely a group to join.

Rebirth of Esports — Facebook

I recently found this group which has over 700 members! They talk about all things related to the “rebirth” of esports

Esports Career — Linkedin

If you want a job in esports and are looking to really learn more about what it takes to have a career, this is the group to join. The crew over at Esports Career have designed a great group of over 300 enthusiastic employees and future employees for hire.

Esports Professionals — Linkedin

With almost 1000 members, this group was built to be the home for all esports professionals. Join and connect to eSports professionals around the world where you can share ideas, business and job opportunities, talk about trends and grow eSports to the next level!

eSports Series Networking Group — Linkedin

This group of 180 is managed by the Kiasco Research group which recently put on the Esports Conference. This networking group is dedicated to driving the eSports industry forward.

Esports Sponsorships — Linkedin

If you are looking for sponsors, looking to sponsor, or want to know more about the sponsorship process, join this group of almost 200 is the place to learn more.

Esports Business

This group of 450 is a Networking group to discuss the business of e-sports either as a game developer, competition organiser, player, sponsor, consultant, brand, betting provider or whatever you think or find interesting in the industry. All the above are welcome.

Electronic Sports Writers Association

This group on reddit is for all those who are looking to write and or want to find someone to write for! This was added after the original post, so ESWA is the 10th group!

If I missed any groups, please let me know! I’d love to add them to the list as soon as possible.
