Wavedash Games is looking to make a big splash in the eSports market with a new game. Wavedash Games is a new video game developer composed of industry veterans that have years of experience in multiple sections of the video game world. The team has come together with the common goal of changing the eSports world with a new game that is built by the community, for the community. They have all recognized that the success, or failure, of an eSports game depends on the community reaction and reception of the game.

Jason Rice is one of the founders of the studio and has years of experience in both making competitive games and running tournaments. He has worked for many popular game studios like Electronic Arts, Bioware, and helped to host gaming tournaments when working with Major League Gaming. With these various experiences in the industry, Rice has the skills to help lead a new studio to success in the eSports world.

Adam Oliver has also been brought on to work with Wavedash Games as a Character Designer. Oliver got his start in the eSports industry as an athlete playing platform fighters. He has since taken on other roles and has settled as a programmer. He will help to bring a players perspective to the studio as he helps design the games characters.

When creating a new game studio, the business aspects of the company may be overlooked but Wavedash games has brought on a veteran in Chris Kovalik as an investor and advisor for the studio. Kovalik has worked with many game studios ensuring that the business has their financials in order and the studio can focus on making their games. He will help advise the company in the right directions to go and make sure that his investment is successful.

In a statement from Matt Fairchild, the studios’ CEO, he says the company’s mission is “Here at Wavedash, our singular goal is to build the next genre-defining platform fighter. We’re teaming game industry veterans with community developers, streamers and players, all focused on modernizing platform fighters and bringing their creativity and competition to a new audience. While we’re still early in development, we’re committed to seeking players’ input at every opportunity.” This statement again shows Wavedash’s commitment to the community and using their input to help make the game.

With eSports growing bigger everyday, brand new game studios can get lost in the fold if they do not have a vision with established goals. Wavedash has clearly identified their goals with a two-part approach. They are looking to create the next popular platform fighter, like Super Smash Brothers, and they will be working with the community to ensure that the game fits the community’s needs and wants. With this focus on the gamers, Wavedash is hoping to be successful as the community is who will ultimately purchase the game and play it.
