What a month! The last thirty days were really characterized with non-stop development and constant updates — not surprising since we’re working on Essentia Desktop, Essentia Mobile, and our independent blockchain in parallel!
Let’s take a look back and see what our team has been busy with in particular!
As you may have guessed, we have been focusing our efforts on the mobile application development — as its release was scheduled for the end of this month.
We’ve been improving the app’s workflow and design considerably — this includes animations, login/logout functionality, and transaction information. Of course, we have also been conducting rigorous tests to make sure everything works like a charm back end-wise — e.g. adding endpoints for third-party services, wallets, and extra backup options.
Stay in the know about all recent updates by checking the dedicated development post!
We were excited to already share the first Beta Test for Android users (available here). This version is mostly devoted to collecting feedback and suggestions from our community to help guide development! So if you have any comments regarding the application, feel free to share it with the team — your opinion is important to us!
The work on the desktop version hasn’t stopped either — we’re currently finalizing major features such as the launchpad, wallets, backup options, and various settings. The team is also focusing on adding more coins and tokens to the desktop version in order to make it much handier.
During the course of the last month we worked on:
- Importing wallets using private keys
- Login/logout functionality
- Key generation
- dApp integration
- dAppstore API
- Flyp.me integration
- Auto-generation of the wallet names
- Database models
- UI experience
…and much more! Yet again, check out our Weekly updates to be the first to know about the most recent developments.
In terms of blockchain development, this past month, we’ve been actively working on the masternodes in order to make them more secure and scalable. This includes taking measures to completely eliminate the possibility of flood attacks, for example.
We’re also working on refactoring the libraries — rpc, p2p discovering — as well as on the changes in the existing bootnode and creating a new one for Swarm.
In the background, we’re constantly running tests to check how the whole system works and fix any bugs ensure maximum security and efficiency.

We were also excited to take part in one of the most anticipated events in the blockchain space — Devcon4! Essentia’s co-founder Matteo Gianpietro Zago, Bedros Awanesian (Head of Business Development), Oleksandr Kozlov (Software Architect), Nikolay Hryshchenkov (Tech Team Lead), Igor Nikolaev (COO) and Olga Trykush (Community Manager) were in full attendance.
This event was a perfect opportunity for us to meet industry leaders and thinkers in blockchains, exchange visions and experience, as well as to establish partnerships (to be announced in the near-future — stay tuned!).
We were very pleased to meet with representatives of such projects as IDEX, Dock, Storj, OmiseGO and many more! It was a unique, valuable, and inspiring experience — our heads are buzzing with ideas and we cannot wait to implement them!
If you’re curious who we met and how Devcon4 went, check out our dedicated post here!
We are fully committed to the further development of Essentia Mobile — the application will be updated with new functionalities, bug fixes, and UI elements every week. Soon, Apple users will also be able to try the application for themselves!
We are also planning to gradually add new coins and tokens both to the mobile apps and the desktop version.
This month, we are also going to work on the implementation of push notifications for Android and iOS applications. This includes creating a separate dedicated service for various kinds of notifications.
The development of the desktop version and Essentia blockchain will not stop either. We’ll continue preparing for the release, adding new functionalities, and sharing the latest news with our community!
Watch out for the upcoming news — we have a lot to share!
