Fabulous Battle of the Bulge Tour!

In June, we enjoyed a wonderful tour exploring the WWII Battle of the Bulge! We had a fantastic group and (mostly) wonderful weather to explore the rugged and beautiful Ardennes region of eastern Belgium and Luxembourg. We spent a day on the northern “shoulder” from the initial fights at the Losheim Gap and Lanzerath, through Elsenborn Ridge, the fight for Malmedy and along the route of the Panzers through Stavelot and la Gleize. The following we day we examined the southern “shoulder” especially concentrating at the siege of the vital crossroads town of Bastogne. Lastly, we visited the moving American cemetery, where General George Patton still lies at the head of his men, and the memorable capital city of Luxembourg. The Bulge was the largest American battle of the war and we were privileged to visit the sites where the young GIs fought to defeat fascism and tyranny.
