Unilever & EFF Hold Urgent Meetings Over Clicks Advert

Clicks and Unilever will be meeting with EFF leader Julius Malema on Thursday to discuss the party’s demands over holding those responsible for the controversial TRESemmé adverts to account.

Unilever, which owns the TRESemmé brand, and the Clicks Group requested meetings with the EFF after strongly-worded letters were sent by the EFF, demanding to meet them or face the consequences.

More than 400 Clicks stores around the country were forced to close down earlier this week, following protests that put Clicks’ staff and customers’ safety at risk. Now, the EFF have announced that they will be meeting with Clicks and Unilever at 10am today.

“The EFF delegation will be led by commander in chief Julius Malema while the Unilever delegation will be led by Keagan Alicks,” the EFF said, according to .

Clicks Group CEO, Vikesh Ramsunder, is expected to lead the meetings, although it is unclear whether Unilever and Clicks will meet with the party in a joint meeting or separately. Meanwhile, the EFF have said that the meetings do not mean that protest action will come to an end.

“We state categorically that the protests of the EFF will continue as we engage these two entities and hold them accountable for their racism,” the party said.
