Every Saturday for the last two months, Essinova’s Artful Life community came together in the morning/afternoon/evening to collectively weave a tapestry of our dreams, wishes and longing, and glue it together with creativity, inspiration and hope.

Here’s a look back at this journey over the summer, with highlights of our precious learnings and evocative creations.

Reflections from the community:

“I’ve learned the word ‘playshop’ — and it’s an eye-opener!!! So much better than ‘workshop’!” — R. Sen

“Attending these sessions was a cross between a smorgasbord (buffet) overflowing with so many extraordinary tastes and colors, and a long journey by foot, bus, or by train through an exotic land full of beautiful scenery — mountains, forests, coastal regions — meeting people and making good friends along the way…” — D. Soltz

“As the last one of the series, the dance playshop ended with a ‘happy hour’ which I believe is called ‘a boozy brunch’ when it happens in the daytime. But we didn’t need any liquid inebriation: While Joe and I were dancing, we found ourselves feeling silly enough. We are in this pause looking for ways to manage our lives and will have to reinvent how to do so many things. Because it will call on us all to re-teach ourselves how to satisfy needs, wants and urges that the Pandemic has stifled or removed, we are sure to grow.” — K. Relf-Cañas

“You gave me a chance to play in ways that I don’t usually do, in a non-judgemental and non-critical way. It was fun and informative and helped me to see [things] in a new way. Thank you so much. I will miss these Saturday morning creativity playshops.” — S. Rothschild

“As a new person — this was my first time — I so much appreciate what you have done. […] Connection amongst us, and a deeper connection with ourselves is not something we can make happen, but, for me is at the core of sorely needed growth and healing. Yes!” — E. Larsen

“Essinova’s playshops this summer were so much fun to be a part of! I was so happy to be able to lead the session, ‘Looking Deeper — Symbolism in Art’. Being able to connect with people all over the world and not only share my knowledge but learn from others was fantastic. I look forward to seeing what Essinova does in the future!” — B. Chlouber

By the way, if you would like to try the Easter Standard cocktail we celebrated with, here’s a step-by-step guide by our mixologist David Soltz, Ph.D., preceding our virtual toast!
