Ethereum Classic will undergo an exciting hard fork and it’s important the fabulous ETC community is prepared. The original difficulty bomb was intended to push Ethereum to a Proof of Stake model which quickly makes Proof of Work mining unprofitable and eventually impossible.

With much love, the hard fork will diffuse the Ethereum difficulty bomb and add important stability improvements to the Ethereum protocol.

For a smooth transition and to ensure the security of the network, it’s important that ETC nodes update to at least Geth 5.0.0 or Parity 1.9.3 prior to block 5,900,000.

Blockheight currently estimated to occur May 24, 2018.
