With just under a week to go, we present to you the penultimate round of sponsor announcements! BIG MASSIVE HUGE thanks to every single one of you! You are making this happen and helping us throw the biggest extravaganza Berlin Blockchain Week has ever seen.
First up to thank are our wonderful friends at Raiden and they have a lot in store for our hackers. Big thank you to their team for their contribution to the event! “Raiden loves ETHBerlin for creating a truly exceptional and unique hackathon experience and reinventing themselves each year. We are proud to sponsor the event and can’t wait to get in touch with the hackers and amazing crowd during the weekend. This year, we are especially excited about hosting our own Raiden bounties and revealing the Raiden ETHBerlin interactive Bauhaus artwork experience.”
Gnosis are also back as major sponsors this year and they have been so crucial to the organisation of this edition, as they were last year. “Last year EthBerlin kicked off its inaugural hackathon and wowed the community with a fantastic venue and exciting lineup of events. We‘re excited to announce that Gnosis will sponsor ETHBerlin again this year! We’re excited to work with EthBerlin because we believe that it is more than just a hackathon, it brings together passionate Blockchain developers from all over the world to build and discuss infrastructure, tooling, and the path forward for the ecosystem. DappCon and EthBerlin are united in our desire to strengthen the Ethereum community and are teaming up to better support one another, onboard new developers, and encourage discussion around Web3.”
As you can all remember the Görli testnet was born at ETHBerlin and we hosted a launch event back in January. It is with great pride that this year our baby has evolved and in this case we can call them our sponsors. “The Görli testnet was ideated and hacked on at the ETHBerlin event in September 2018. The initiative gained so much tractions afterwards that we are honored to give back to the community by supporting ETHBerlin Zwei in 2019!”
As you know, this year we are spreading the love to other blockchains and ETC couldn’t resist joining in on the fun. “The Ethereum Classic Cooperative is a 501(c)(3) non-profit created to financially support the growth and development of the Ethereum Classic protocol. We love grassroots development efforts and we love scrappy underdogs. Many of our favorite people in blockchain are associated with ETHBerlin and we couldn’t resist the opportunity to join the party. Come to the green side :-)”
Welcome to Waves and their first ETHBerlin! They decided to support because “Participating in the blockchain industry events we mostly target at developers, to enable them a faster, more reliable, and intuitive development of their dapps on the blockchain. We find ETH a good place to bring Waves Platform closer to the target. We are confident we’ll get valuable feedback on products and tools from our peers and potential users.”
The awesome team at the Ethereum Foundation have given us a lot of support too this year! We are really thrilled to have them involved on different levels. They joined this year because, “ETHBerlin is setting a terrific example of how to grow the Ethereum community by inclusively bringing local Berlin teams together with others traveling from great distances who that haven’t previously had the opportunity to get involved in a personal way. We look forward to seeing what everyone is able to build together.
Back for another edition is Golem! They gave us the following reason for why they are supporting us, “We’re happy to support ETHBerlinZwei! we had great fun in 2018 — and our workshop marked the start of a really cool movement towards better web3 UX, that ultimately resulted in the Metacartel, and we hope that 2019 will be as productive!”
A newbie in the space but the team behind it are ETHBerlin veterans. We are really excited to have Rotkehlchen on board! “Rotkehlchen is the only opensource portfolio tracking, asset analytics and tax reporting application in the Crypto world. We are on a mission to enable you to take ownership of your financial data and navigate the maze of cryptocurrencies while enjoying full transparency and without having to relinquish your data to middle men. ETHBerlin shares the same values as we do as far as decentralization and transparency is concerned which is why we are proud and privileged to sponsor this year’s hackathon!”
Big shout out to Zerion for ETHBerlin is one of the greatest events where hackers from all over the world can show their creativity by crafting new financial products. This year we are excited to see more user-friendly applications for the emerging market of DeFi.
Sia join us this year, and we are very happy to add them to the wonderful list of sponsors. “Why EthBerlin?: EthBerlin is beyond just a hackathon and brings together the community to hack, build and collaborate. We at Sia align with the mission of ETHBerlin to push the decentralized ecosystem forward and we are excited to be part of it.”
Another squad of ETHBerlin OG’s, POA! They jumped on board because “ETHBerlin 2018 was one of the most important events that we attended last year. The presence of all the talented hackers, the friendly community, and great minds was enthralling . ETHBerlin was also where we were came up with our most innovative project: xDai Stable Chain. We are excited to see what ETHBerlin2019 has in store for us, and can’t wait to see what it inspires us to come up this time around”
It wouldn’t be a Berlin blockchain event with some of the key players in the local ecosystem. Tendermint are fully immersed in the community here and they are truly committed to maintaining it as one of the most important hubs in the world, “Berlin is home to many leading blockchain projects and an important community with regards to blockchain innovation. This is the reason Tendermint Inc made Berlin its European headquarters. August also marks the one year anniversary of its shared initiative with Gnosis in investing in the launch of Full Node Berlin, a blockchain community work space. We want to continue supporting the growing Berlin blockchain community through events like ETHBerlin Zwei. ETHBerlin aims to bring together many protocols and chains for interchain collaboration, so hackers have the opportunity to build on the stack that suits their needs — a vision supported by the development of Cosmos, the Internet of Blockchains.”
Hi Portis! Welcome on board! They feel that, “ETHBerlin is a community initiative to push the decentralized ecosystem forward, which aligns perfectly with our vision of working with and empowering developers so their DApps can reach the masses. We’re thrilled to provide our platform to the hackers of ETH Berlin and see the amazing things they will build with it. Let’s #BUIDL, but also keep it #SIMPL.”
MEW are all about dedication and understand that we are fully dedicated to keeping the vision of the community in tact. “The Department of Decentralization has been dedicated to maintaining the ethos of decentralized, open-source that has made Ethereum such gratifying ecosystem in which to build. EthBerlin is the product of that dedication, bringing hackers and builders from all over the world to support that ethos. MEW is grateful for the opportunity to support.”
And finally big thanks to Opera for their contribution to the event. “ETHBerlin is a great event which brings the entire Ethereum developer community together. Opera was the first major browser to introduce a native Ethereum-powered Crypto Wallet and Web 3 explorer. For this reason we are thrilled to see the current growth and innovations in the Web 3 space and to once again participate and support ETHBerlin.”
Also a BIG shout out to Dokia Capital and Electric Coin Company for contributions towards the social events!
