Andreas M. Antonopoulos to keynote ETHDenver 2019 amid new book, Mastering Ethereum, release

ETHDenver is returning for 2019. We’ve rebranded slightly this year. The ETHDenver 2019 #BUIDLATHON + Community Gathering is scheduled for February 15th-17th at the Sports Castle.
In 2018, ETHDenver had 1500 attendees, 750 hackers from 31 U.S. states and 23 countries, and 170 projects submitted, making it the largest Ethereum hackathon to date. We had an amazing weekend building the decentralized future with our community, but since ETHDenver is so much more than just a “hackathon,” we’ve created an entire week of community events for 2019: #BUIDL Week Colorado. Starting February 11th, #BUIDL Week will consist of a series of meetups, project demonstrations, speakers, panels, and workshops throughout the state to further support and educate Colorado’s growing blockchain community. Hacking/Buidling will begin on Friday, February 15th with judging taking place on Sunday, February 17th. Following the weekend, we will also host a mountain retreat (location TBA) from February 18th-20th. With all of our #BUIDL Week events, we’re excited to bring together people and projects from all over the world while continuing to cultivate Denver’s Ethereum & blockchain ecosystem.
We have some exciting news to add to our #buidl community announcements. Andreas M. Antonopoulos, best-selling author, prolific public speaker, and community #buidler, will serve as a keynote speaker for ETHDenver 2019. Andreas is well known for giving entertaining, prolific talks, and Mastering Bitcoin, a best-selling technical text, published by O’Reilly Media that explains how Bitcoin works; The Internet of Money Series, which is a written collection of his talks that explain why Bitcoin and open blockchains matter; and his most recent work, Mastering Ethereum, that explains how Ethereum works.
I made this official announcement this past weekend at the ETHSanFrancisco hackathon, saying, “Andreas is an amazing steward of the blockchain ethos for decentralization. We are honored to have him in the Mile High City to share with us his latest work and insights into what lies ahead for Bitcoin & Ethereum.”
Antonopoulos’ keynote address at ETHDenver 2019 will be “Thoughts on The Future of Programmable Money,” which will be followed by a Q&A session. He will also participate in the hackathon judging along with previously announced industry heavyweights Joseph Lubin of ConsenSys, Ryan Selkis of Messari, and Erik Voorhees of ShapeShift.
