📢 EIP-3074 community call
The Ethereum Cat Herders are hosting a community call for EIP-3074 featuring authors, EIP editors, and client developers inviting wallet, Dapp developers, and everyone who has a comment or concern with this proposal. After a brief overview, the panel will address some of the concerns raised by client teams about the EIP, discuss relevant development, research, testnet updates, and answer community-submitted questions.
What is EIP-3074?
EIP-3074: AUTH and AUTHCALL opcodes allows externally owned accounts (EOAs) to delegate control of their account to a contract. Unlike other meta transaction proposals, this proposal does not change any fundamental parts of the protocol, including block headers, the transaction format, and the transaction pool. It would also bring a long-standing requested feature of adding more functionality to EOAs.
👥 About the Community Call
The Ethereum Cat Herders are organizing this call to bring authors, client developers, and other stakeholders together to understand the long-term benefits of the proposal for the Ethereum chain and address any concerns in hopes of coming to a consensus to include the EIP in upcoming upgrades.
We’re expecting EIP authors, researchers, client devs and other community members to join. EIP authors will explain the proposal, sharing some of the research & testing work done around the proposal to fill in everyone with the current state of the proposal. The floor will then be opened for any concerns about the EIP, which developers and researchers will try and address.
If time permits, questions from the community will also be addressed.
🪑How to join
If you have a question about the proposal, testnet results, or general understanding of why this is a good proposal for the Ethereum 1.0 chain, please post your question to the Fellowship of Ethereum Magicians, or Etherum Cat Herders Discord and join the community call on Monday, April 26, at 1600 UTC. Everyone is welcome to join us!
Considering the far-reaching implications of this proposal; detailed research has been conducted. The proposal is currently on the developers’ test net and the champion is working with EF to audit the EIP-3074 spec. This is an important step to ensure a safe network upgrade.
