ECH Celebrates International Women’s Day (March 8th at noon EST)

Ethereum Cat Herders is delighted to announce it’s inaugural annual International Women’s Day event, “The Future of Inclusion 3.0” to celebrate the International Women’s Day with the Ethereum Community.

We are happy to host a panel discussion with Anett Rolikova, Arry Yu, Jill Robinson, and Zayi Reyes, who have years of experience and expertise in blockchain related fields as diverse as Ethereum standards coordination, compliance law, marketing, education and advocacy. The panel discussion will be co-moderated by Pooja Ranjan, ECH Herder-in-chief, and Jamiel Shiekh, an experienced web 3, metaverse entrepreneur, author, and professor, with the discussion on how the coming web 3 future can be an inclusive space for women, and in particular the opportunities and challenges that are presented by this space.

Panelists

We are pleased to introduce our four panelists:

Anett Rolikova has worked with Ethereum developers and connected people in the ecosystem since 2019. Organizer of Ethereum events, she presents a unique perspective on the Ethereum Community. In particular, she has the special ability to communicate and write in beginner friendly language that helps improve public awareness of technical issues related to Ethereum standards.

Arry Yu is the Chair of the Cascadia Blockchain Council, a group supported by the Washington Technology Industry Association (WTIA), the largest US tech association representing technology companies from Oregon to British Columbia. She is also the co-organizer for the Federation of Multi-State Blockchain Association across the U.S. Arry was an early pioneer that completed a $32m tokensale in an Initial Coin Offering (ICO) back in 2017. She’s been an avid educator, advocate, investor, and operator in the space since 2016.

Jill Robinson is the Senior Attorney in the Seattle office of Gravis Law, PLLC. She has worked in the Blockchain space, in the area of compliance and the release of assets blocked pursuant to Office of Foreign Assets Control Sanctions. She has held high-level compliance positions in both Fortune 100 and mid-sized global corporations. She started her legal career working in Washington, D.C. at such AmLaw 100 firms as DLA Piper, Alston & Bird and Squire Patton Boggs, where she defended clients against global government investigations and provided compliance counseling, compliance interventions and compliance system design and deployment.

Zayi Reyes is a Blockchain marketer working at Chainlink Labs. Coming from an immigrant family, she has a passion to help increase public awareness of opportunities in the technology space for underrepresented communities. As such, she has given numerous talks on the subject, is actively engaged on twitter, and other social media, and has even presented on various topics at universities, conferences, and meetup groups, including the SXSW 2021, and the National Briefing of Women of Color in Blockchain.

Event moderator & organizers

Jamiel Shiekh, is an author, founder, entrepreneur, professor, coder, and trader. He is the founder & CEO of Instamint, a B2B NFT/DAO minting API platform, the founder of Chainhaus, a blockchain / DeFi advisory and education company, operator of Blockchain101, an online blockchain education portal and founder of the Central Bank Digital Currency Think Tank which consists of central bankers, bankers and academics and runs CBDC Insider. In particular, he is a board member of the Society of Women Coders, and is passionate about helping women from underprivileged backgrounds access opportunities in technological fields.

Pooja Ranjan, is Ethereum Cat Herder’s herder-in-chief, is involved in decentralized project management and process improvement for Ethereum blockchain. She is the founder of EtherWorld.co, a blockchain publishing website to share knowledge and awareness on the blockchain technology. She is also a contributor to Moloch DAO, one of the most prestigious grant giving DAOs. Being a member of Meta Gamma Delta, a women lead DAO, she hopes to onboard female contributors to the web3 space.

Kenneth Luster, Ethereum Cat Herder contributor, is a community manager that has extensive networks across the blockchain space, helping people build stronger web 3 communities. As a Consensys ambassador, he has worked with EthGlobal, WGMI Studios, The BAFNetwork, and the BlueTeamVillage.

Metago is an ECH contributor and a researcher of international law and digital currencies. Metago helps onboard new members through the New Joiners monthly meeting. The next meeting will be held on March 17th, 2022, at 11 am EST. If interested, you can join the ECH Discord to get more information.

How to participate

The zoom event will be held at 17:00 UTC (noon EST), and the link will be shared on the ECH Discord. If you would like to participate, you join the ECH discord here and you can also post your questions in advance on the ECH general discord channel, as well as ECH twitter. The zoom video will later be uploaded to the ECH Youtube channel.

We hope that the event highlights the need for more women to join the Ethereum community, whether they have years of experience in a different field, are still a young student, or simply someone that is curious and would like to get more involved and don’t know where to start. We hope that this event will encourage women to connect with the panelists, the Ethereum Cat Herder’s community, and the Ethereum space in general.
